Not even that. Somebody ground for that ISK. Somebody killed a Rat, sold to an NPC buy order, or got an insurance payout (or any other ISK faucet) to create the ISK that you receive when you sell a PLEX.

PLEX is PaySomeoneToGrindForYou.

Obvious troll-thread.

1/10 0.5/10.

Mods, please lock, the very mention of that...obscenity...has no place here.

Which advantage over other players does PLEX give you that they can't get through conventional means?

You may need to greatly expand on this supposed advantage.

Well yes, but these idiots only think on a personal level. So you have to point things out that way too.

OP took a bad idea (gate scout drones) and grafted it onto a good idea (pay real money to directly improve your ship).

What CCP should do is sell additional high-mid-low slots for AUR, one-time use items that can add up to 50% more slots to ANY ship. While also selling items that will permanently increase a ship's CPU, PG, and calibration limit (again, up to 50%, for example).

And the use AUR to purchase one-time increases to a ship's shield, armor, hull, capacitor . . . Shield recharge rate . . . Capacitor recharge rate . . . Resist profiles . . . You know, they missed to boat when they didn't make T3's all PTW through AUR.

You should also be able to use AUR purchases to bump people out of occupied manufacturing/research slots, or to buy one-time "skill point injections" that give you like 1,000,000 SP to use as you like per purchase.

Come on, Plexing is already pay-to-win, amirite? I wanna pay $240 in AUR to fly a frigate with 6 high/low/mid slots, native 10k shields, 100% EM resists and enough PG to equip large energy turrets.

I am not an alt of Chribba.

These are also bad ideas from a bad person.

If AUR can be used for in game advantages, it's not going to fly.

I'm a fan of more modular ships, but they should all be bought and sold in ISK (and made by players - the worst part of your idea is that it adds a bunch of NPC seeded items when the intent is to move away from that concept.)

This is just awful! Can people please just stop trying to think up ways to make this game less interesting and more and more risk free.

Whats next............

Can we just make a mod that costs AUR but if i get into a situation i don't like, i press it and it takes me safely back to station?

Do you have a better way to curb Gold or isk farming? Plex is fine. What's next? Spending Aurum for T3 Weapons...We've been down this path before. They damn near burned Jita to the ground.

No Aurum for any type of strategic advantage.

Aurum is fine for cosmetic. I'd love to see Aurum to have custom paint jobs or Corp Logos or Pirate eye patches.

Using AUR as I proposed would make life alot easier for everyone using trial accounts as scouts.

Also rejecting Aur and accepting PLEX is pure hypocrisy.

It's possible that CCP thinks the act of scouting should require a character and not a drone, aur/plex/cash or whatever else not really mattering.

Multiple accounts being pay to win is another issue though. Cooperative play using 2 accounts is just that. 2 characters cooperating. The game doesn't really care if the same person is controlling both or 2 separate persons. Is this game breaking? No more than giving someone plex in exchange for scouting you really.

To add to this, functionally it's near impossible to enforce the pay-to-win that is alts, so ccp gave the practice their blessing (hey, what the heck, it's more money). It's still pay-to-win, and it's still wrong, but not worth enforcing. Therefore, it doesn't justify introducing something else to do the same thing at lower cost and with lower system requirements.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

Pay to win is when you can pay money to gain an advantage over other players that they cannot obtain through in game means.

We all have 2 alts on our account, so I am assuming you are talking about players with more than one account.

A player does not have to pay money out of his pocket to have more than one account, anyone can pay for extra accounts with ISK obtained through in game means. In fact, most people fund their extra accounts with ISK alone.

What you have described is in no way pay to win.

monocles

First, monocles provide no in game advantage. They are purely cosmetic.

Second, you can easily buy a monocle with ISK instead of cash... either by it being resold on the player driven market or directly buy purchasing PLEX with ISK and then converting to AUR.

So pretty much wrong in every sense of the word. Smile

I play some iPhone FTP games and am amazed at how much real cash people will pay for just a minor advantage, or item. I am talking hundreds, or thousands, of dollars. Someone is getting very rich off gamers.

Paying for an alt account doesn't give you an advantage over another person who doesn't pay money since accounts can be paid with isk, therefore it's not pay to win.
