The beeps from hell

This thread is about the Non-Capsuleer Log Off Timer. Crime Watch is great and all, but I only have one complaint: why do I have to hear an ear splitting obnoxious beep every few seconds? I will now list all the times you receive a (very loud) beep that I know of.

1. When you activate a module on ANY NPC ship that is not agressed on you.
2. When you activate a module on ANY NPC that has only yellow boxed you.
3. When you are locked by an NPC from having no aggro at all.
4. When you are cap transfering someone else who does any of the above.
5. Same as 4 with shield transfers and armor transfers.
6. When you lose aggro from NPCs. (probably just #3 I'm hearing here)
7. When you're cap transfering a logi who is repping someone doing #1-3. (this one could become a nightmare in large chains)

There's probably more involving E-War and friendly buffs.

Example as to why this has driven me to post this,

I run wormholes, and I've recently created a Bhaalgorn who can link with logi ships and rep, as well as shoot. I was receiving beeps so often I had to turn the sound off to avoid getting a headache. At times more than one beep would trigger at a time, so it'd be extra loud. This noise causes me physical pain if I have sound on. With my Bhaalgorn I was transfering 2 basi's, repping others, and firing my own weapons (grouped thank god). This means I was receiving notifications for 4 seperate ships where NPCs often split aggro. And that's not including potential drone assist notifications.

I don't really care about opinions or what other people think about it, I just want to know a way to turn off the sound. I want to be able to make my isk in peace again. Does anyone here know how to change or remove the sound from Eve?

Those sounds are annoying, should have a different softer tune. As they're now give a sense of danger, I always think something is targetting me, or I'm going to explode.

Yeah its kind of annoying because it sounds similiar to an attack but its not.

Why even have a sound notification for it anyways? Its just a timer for logoff.

I take it those "beeps" indicate the moment you starts to aggress something (or aggressed by something), and also the moment when it's not longer the case (you don't shoot anything and isn't getting shot at anymore).

Legitimate post otherwise, but this is highly doubtful.

If so, have you heard of a volume button (slider) ?

I gotta say, pretty much this. Frankly, I never hear the beeps unless there's absolutely NOTHING else going on, and I wear headphones when I play, so it's right in my ear. I simply fiddled with the in game volumes until it was at a level where it didn't bother me any more.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Yup.

Seriously, dropping ridiculous statements like that in one's post just makes the whole thing suspect and achieves nothing.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

I still don't see any constructive posts with a simple answer to my question.

In fleets with transfers going, it's not hard to get multiple beeps from more than one ship at a time, making it extremely loud as 2-4 beeps play at the same time. I actually have a noise equalizer that helps reduce it but it's still uncomfortable. And try shooting a rat with ungrouped weapons.

Haha. I like your list. I couldnt figure out myself what all was doing it. I just know that I had to turn off my sound, because it was far too annoying.

I think it's pretty clear CCP didn't playtest this feature.
