Shame the only thing the MMO will have in common is the lore.

From what I've heard Skyrim is actually built differently from the other Elder Scrolls as well, but personally I'm fine with that because I love everything about Skyrim (except the first person view epilepsy bug).

Having said that, the one item that I was hoping for over anything to be included was Skyrims skill system. Losing the typical class stigmata is what makes Skyrim great, its what made Eve great, and it would of made ESO just as great. But once again, they made the typical tank, caster, healer, rogue who will all have predictable advantages, disadvantages, styles, and forum rages.

They had something with that skill system. Imagine what it would be like if they removed the class system. You wouldn't be able to cry about mages being op, or tanks not doing enough damage; the design of your 'class' would be up to you. Granted we can still complain about individual skills but I find that to be more appropriate than crying about a class in general. Just imagine what it would be like to see a mage running with heavy armor, or a tank who heals, and a magika assassin, or a ranger with a 2 handed sword. The builds could go on and each battle would be radically different.

Sidenote: For this system to really be valid they would have to refuse skill point refunds like we do in eve to help curb fotm builds.

Thanks for the warning. Smile I only ever tried Morrowind, and was not taken by it. I think it lasted a whole of 9 minutes. Still haven't gotten Skyrim either; seems pretty atypical of the RPG genre these days, and most of those I just can't seem to ever get into.

I only got Average on my chance of getting in, but I'm fairly certain the chance is based on age category as nothing else seemed to affect it. Suits me; if I don't get in I'll get over it. There's a good chance I'll think it's stupid anyway.

My best description of Skyrim is Fallout D&D edition. So if you enjoyed Fallout then you will more than likely enjoy Skyrim. Skyrim's skill system is modified from Fallout though, whereas you gain skill points as you use an item. Then each time you gain a level you can pick an ability from one of the skill trees as long as you have the sufficient SP in that skill, i.e. critical strike level 3 on sword may require you to have a one handed skill of 60 (gaining that skill would give you like a 40% chance of critical strike or something like that).
Like Fallout, you can make choices that will decide your characters alignment and overall outcome of the game. For example, one of the major side storylines involves a current war between the empire and the rebellion. I chose to help the rebels and we eventually overthrew the King. Now, I have read that they intend to implement this into ESO as well, allwoing us to make evil characters if we choose so at least that is a +1.
Also like Fallout, there are hundreds of side quests in game. I personally still haven't actually beaten it yet because I'm constantly am being sidetracked with something else like having a drinking game with a Demon (which to this day I'm still getting awkward encounters connected to my one night blackout). And it has random encounters as well. I don't think anything is as funny as watching a group of bandits try to take on a Giant as he launches them into orbit.
And like I said, you can create a character that matches you. To date, I have a norse warrior who wears steel armor, dual wields or occasionally sword n boards, can either snipe with a bow or just rampage through, is a bard, and turns into a werewolf. Plus he shouts a lot (given) and has just enough magic to heal himself if need be. He also steals every book he finds, his house is a freaking library now.
If they could take that game and make it multiplayer I think it would be awesome. Personally I'm just going to wait until its 3 months out to see what people think. That is usually when the first population dip hits.

as the poster above me mentioned , plus you need to play it on a pc and use mods , i think it was made to include mods
one of the biggest selling points of all 3 last TES games
morrowwind, oblivio,n and skyrim is that they are all very modable and the player can change almost every thing in the game that suits his or her taste without changing the story
If you want to turn it into a japanese manga fantady you can , if you want to turn it into a gothic horror look you can , if you want it dark and gritty you can

the freedom to do and be what want and the freedom to modify and change t how the game looks and play are the 2 main selling points of the whole franchise and the main reason why these gales are a succes and have sucjh huge playability scores

Both have been taken out of the MMO and instead a pretty rigid fixed structure been put in place ;
It might§ lure the bored WoW player to the game but not the long time TES fans

edit damn just found out i got banned from the bethesda forums for ' constant trolling '
i didn't i just told those fanboys on their forums that this ESO will suck big time and has nothing todo with what TES stand for

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

any ENB of your liking

ENB by itself makes it a whole different game.

granted to make the most out of it you'll probably need something akin to today's best gaming computer money can buy grafted to today's best triple-screen money can buy.

and a torch.
