CSM Town Hall to be held Sunday, 3 Feb 2013 - 2000 EVT

Greetings, Citizens of New Eden.

Now that the December CSM Summit Minutes have been published and CSM 7 is actively involved with the summer expansion planning process as Stakeholders, we would like to hold another CSM Town Hall meeting.

This meeting will be hosted on Sunday, 3 Feb 2013 at 2000 EVE Time and should last approximately two hours. The focus of this Town Hall will be on Q&A about the recent Summit and to give players an opportunity to get more direct clarification about recent CCP communications concerning EVE development in 2013 and beyond.

The format for this Town Hall will be similar to the last, which is a much more interactive approach than has been used in the past. Two step and Hans Jagerblitzen will be moderating along with DJ Wiggles of EVE-Radio, who will be facilitating the streaming of the meeting live. Kelduum Revaan will be making the EVE University mumble server publicly accessible so that players can ask questions or share comments directly, with participants in a muted channel so we can allow a single speaker at a time. The EVE-Radio stream will ensure that players without Mumble won’t be required to download and install any software just to tune in.

The meeting will be recorded and made available for download as soon as possible.

For the Mumble information, you can follow the instructions here: http://mumble.eveuniversity.org.

Basic Instructions:


Download Mumble 1.2.3a or greater from http://mumble.sourceforge.net/, and install it.
Start it up, go through all the wizard stuff and set it to use a push-to-talk key.
Server > Connect > Add New...
Label: Whatever you want.
Address: Mumble.eveuniversity.org
Port: 64738
Username: Your EVE Character Name.
Click OK.
You will be connected to the server, and dropped into the relevant channel.


Around 30-60 minutes before the townhall is due to start, the authentication will be turned off, at which point a password will not be required.

If you have problems with this, you can still listen in on EVE Radio, who will be rebroadcasting the stream.

We will do our best to create an “open mic” feel, though we encourage participants to be respectful of everyone else’s time and allow us to hear as many players as possible. This format worked very well in the last town hall and we are looking forward to trying it again. We hope to ~see~ you there!

If I remember correctly, the russian member(s) of the CSM were missing from the previous town hall held on e-uni mumble. Will they be able to make it this time?

Will the CSM be fielding questions about the CFC/HBC non-drama, or is this limited to the contents of the minutes?

they were there, but they automatically warped safe and cloaked as soon as anybody entered the channel.

It's a CSM Town Hall, so I'm thinking it will be about CSM stuff.

Well yeah. Don't get me wrong I'm not trolling - it's just that given the whole thing is quite big news at the minute, involves CSM members' constituencies and revolves around a variety of eve mechanics, would the CSM be addressing questions about things they plan to bring to the table at a later date (specifically the sov/tech/null related questions) or is this intended mainly to discuss the outcome of the last meeting with CCP?

who will be the block WH candidate for csm 2013 or are men still waiting for CCP to redo the voting system ?

As the Town hall is held as always before the crack of dawn for me.

Being CFC and HBC had a huge battle and CFC suffered 600+ billion isk loss, one comment on themittani.com stated

Now the figure is completely inaccurate but it does bring a question to mind. Have you been informed of the amount of tech now produced by alchemy?

Or is alchemy just a way to produce a cap on the tech price?

How rapidly do you feel the removal of tech needs to be with the new themes idea, eg. can it be done given what they have already decided will be the features of the theme (sort of)

I suppose what I am asking there is was it in the grab bag to make up a theme?

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

I think I can answer this one for you.
you cannot have the same name in both games...
My son plays both EvE and Dust and he was not able to use his "EvEname" for Dust, it gave the message that the name was already taken or whatever, so he used his "EvEname1" instead.

and for the CSMs:
I won't be able to be there, but my question is the same as the other person's, is the meeting going to be limited to the discussion of the minutes of the last meeting, or will there be time alloted for questions outside of those?
if so, I would like to throw in a suggestion to push for POS and SOV changes this year. :)
