Why there will be no Test/goons war

This whole drama is just for pure entertainment value. There will be no war (unless the caveat at the bottom of the post is filled), for several reasons that equate with the real world.

1. Both Test/HBC and goons/CFC are just about tapped out, logistically speaking. Ask the Romans, or the British, or the Soviets, or the americans, what it was like maintaining an empire that spanned vast distances. A war would weaken both sides, and the weakened winner is then expected to not only maintain their current territory, but captured territory? Not happening.

2. An all out bloc war would mean attacking each other's cash flow. And there is zero chance Test or goons would jeopardize OTEC. Far, far too much power is generated by those moons' cash flow, and these guys orgasm over how much power they wield.

3. I could suggest that RMT operations would be impacted severely if a large percentage of null sec became a war zone, but because no one in null sec RMT's now, or ever will again, that point is moot.

4. Given that both major powers would be weakened, and given point 1, the only null sec winners in an all out bloc war would be alliances like PL, who undoubtedly would acquire choice territory (assuming they wanted it) when goons fell (or if they switch sides and Test fell). Neither goons nor Test want to strengthen future potential enemies and challengers.

One thing that can be said about the HBC/CFC control of null sec is they have created a new paradigm within null.
It may be boring, but they have made it more profitable than it ever has before in Eve's history.
And I find it incredibly unlikely that either side wants to mess with that.

Unless, or course, the leaders' wealth is so extreme, and their boredom so extreme, that their need for entertainment (beyond the current forum skirmishes) over-rides their craving of wealth and power.
If the ego's and individual desires of the leadership supercedes their commitment to their alliances' rank and file, then we could have war.

From what I've been reading, TEST's side of things have always been about independence, and laughs and drama and just straight metagaming.

Goons seem to be extremely more political and filled with hidden agendas (rightly so).

So, "because of falcon" could in fact happen, if someone is willing to pull the trigger.

Cold feet versus a calculated decision is what it will come down to.

Pilots signed up to fight. I saw a 30 man Test roam get smashed by BrB in Genesis last week. They are bored, they don't like each other, and Delve wasn't a GF it was a head ache. I'm surprised this has taken so long to happen tbh.

I bet they fight to a standstill with no clear winner, unless PL goes all in with Test, but I dont think that will happen. Grath said something like "I think I'm going to sit back and let the kids sort this one out themselves."

Or if they bring all of their mining gear into highsec and try to outmine the bears in their own belts. That would be kind of cool.

Or (and before I say this, I know this is going to sound crazy) they suddenly stopped and realized that EVE is a game and no matter how much power you wield or how much territory you hold within the game, it is completely and utterly meaningless. Nah, I'm probably crazy. Nobody thinks like that. Roll

This is now a Best Rumours Competition.

They are both building caps fleet. Once they feel powerful enough will they attack Pandemic Legion.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

I think someone would rather unsub with everything in their name before relinquishing it to see "what would happen if...".

It's just one of those "I'd rather destroy it than see it in your hands" type of pompous crap.

I would sign up for this if we could get a Boat vs DHD sing-off.

I wonder what Mag's would think about a module that could pipe voice into local ambiance sound.

Both the CFC and HBC already have a substantial supercapital and capital fleet. They're not waiting for any particular fleet size.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Everyone is afraid to answer becasue they think you are trolling. You'll have to research it yourself.

Hmmm. I smell smokescreen.

The Mittani is more than capable of pulling of a lengthy false-front effort with an eye towards something unexpected.

I think the trap has already sprung. Montolio now has the choice of getting down on one knee and publicly apologizing to FA and Mittani or going to war. An apology that will indicate the pecking order that Mittani had planned to make clear from the beginning of their "alliance".

I guess if he is in a good mood then Montolio may be OK to stand.

I just saw someone bump a 2 page thread to the top, trying to hype some kind of drama. Is that what you're talking about?

Seems like someone is trying awfully hard to suddenly manufacture drama today, but there's still no sign of actual drama, and the majority of people are clearly more interested in other topics.

It has to be admitted that the quantity of drama in the EVE forums is pretty low. The good drama can all be found on TEST forums, Goon forums, Kugutsumen forums and a few pieces on mittens.com

Well threads discussing 'all the drama' should probably be where the drama is occurring. Blink

Here we have important matters like some random guy quitting to deal with.
