1 pirate over 100 might actually honor the ransom, that's why you should never ever accept.
You did a mistake already for getting caught and that's enough, you don't need to look like an idiot on top of it. Just shoot back whatever the outcome for you ship is.

Spreading this crap surely will help. *rollseyes*

I am assuming he was in 0.0 otherwise he could have warped to a celestial and saved his pod.

i said **** you. and ended the convo with a smile :)

sure i lost my pod and ship but i t was worth it

Like a sir.

200 Mio is far to much to ask for a young charakter like yours. We would probably ransom you for 50 millions and as everyone knows WE ALWAYS HONOUR ransoms.
BUT
For someone being as vulgar and rude in a convo like you, there is generally no ransom.

You guys are pretty cool when it comes to ransoms. However in my experience, you pretty much kill whatever jumps through Aunenen.

If you don't know a guy will honor his word, don't pay. People are taking chances with loot and they will not honor any word they give to someone who is piñata.

Logic ?

How can one know if the ransom is honored, if he never cares finding out ?

Ah ... i see where you're getting at with this. I don't actually disagree with the idea,
but there are far too many "victims" and not enough "connectivity" between said victims for this to work.

The issue is

1: Its EVE its cutthroat by build. People can double cross, lie, steal, scam. No reason they have to honor a ransom
2: Too many people follow the ideal of number 1. So people are already believing that nobody will honor the ransoms.

I remember being ransomed once.
They had the corporate rule that members *have* to honor ransoms ... and thus they did.
I agree at what you say, to some degree, but it's a really slow downward spiral.

Never heard of him. *lol*
It would probably help if you spread the word, but also mentioning that not everybody is like this.

I really have no idea how this issue can be resolved.

Maybe easier it would be to just post who is honouring ransoms, not who will take money and blow ship right after. :P

Naah to easy to exploit...

Besides, you're assuming that everybody knows where to look that information up ... which won't ever be the case.

I'm pretty sure you don't have time to google whether or not a certain pirate will honor the ransom or not.

So its pretty safe to assume he won't honor.

Also, self-descruct to show you mean business.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?
