Seleenes attitude is very much why I personally believe ex-CCP employees should not be allowed into the CSM

Seleene wrote:
JON LANDER I WANT YOU TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT OF SOMETHING!!!!!

Also, the CSM minutes will be published in the next 24-48 hours. We've been waiting on this dev blog. Cool

Why this praise, I read the minutes and to be honest all it really told me is at the moment they have no idea what they are doing for the next expansion.

Also from Seleene in a reddit comment.

Seleene wrote:
There is no way that Two Step could be under the impression that CCP was 'shelving' POSs. Zero. Communication between CCP and the CSM is at an all time high.

Now this being besides the fact that Two step stated in his blog
Two Step wrote:

It wasn't in the minutes, but I spent a lot of time talking to Unifex about this at night. Needless to say, I disagreed with CCP's decision to not move ahead with work on the POS system. I also disagree that only a small group of people would feel the effects of a new POS system. From wormhole residents to Tech 2 producers to nullsec residents, a lot of people interact with POSes. Also, a redesigned POS system would both attract players that were frustrated to the point of giving up with the old POS system as well as new players who cannot use the current POS system because of limitations with roles.

and what about Hans Blog
Hans Jagerblitzen wrote:
What happened to Modular POSes? What is coming this summer for those of us out in 0.0? What about Industry? But CCP, you PROMISED! All of this and more will be pouring out of the community in the days ahead, just as the CSM warned CCP that you would at our recent summit. And these questions should be raised.

Looks to me like 2 members of the CSM very definitely did not know that POSs were going to be worked on in the upcoming expansion. I would also like to point out that so far we have had the usual fluffy from CCP about the POS revamp/fix and no actually clear "Yes" statement.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

As to Communication being at an all time high, I would like to point out
Two step wrote:
What we were told at the summit was [the feature] was going to be player-to-player [service] contracts, and the next thing we hear, without any input from us, was that it was going to be bounty hunting. Our expectation was going to be that we were going to be consulted about decisions like that -- and we didn't even know there was a decision being made

Seleene wrote:
We made it very clear [at the first summit] that we needed to be involved early, before things started getting settled. When we found out the feature was being focused on Bounty Hunting, [we were very frustrated]. While the feature turned out well, there was a lot of resentment in CSM.

So it comes very much down to the fact that our CSMs chairman seems now to be more of a spokesman for CCP and less of a spokesman for us the players and seems happy to stomp fellow CSM members just to win points with CCP. Does Seleene miss his job and want it back? or is this just some kind of divided loyalty where the CCP side is winning a lot.

So In closing I would like to add the following quote from 'What is the CSM"
Quote:
The purpose of the CSM is to represent society interests to CCP.

If you agree or disagree with the OP it is possible to do so in a polite and constructive way.

Thread cleaned from posts breaking one or more of the following rules:

4. Be respectful of others at all times.

The purpose of the forum is to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas. Occasionally, there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Be courteous when disagreeing with others. It is possible to disagree without being insulting.

7. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is the word used to describe a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting the players. Posts of this nature are disruptive and do not contribute to the sense of community we want for our forums.

12. Spamming, bumping and pyramid quoting are prohibited.

Spam is defined as the repetitive posting of the same topic or text or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users. This includes “first” and “go back to another game” posts. Bumping posts in order to keep them near the top of the list is also prohibited. Petitions or "/signed" posts are a version of bumping and likewise are not permitted. Pyramid quoting is a response to a forum thread that contains the quotes of four or more previous posters, sometimes with additional spaces added unnecessarily. Posts of this nature are not conducive to community spirit and are unwelcome.

My apologies apparently Seleene is not running for re-election so the only point to this thread is now to show that ex-CCP employees should not be on the player council.

Yet Malcanis is a good poster. Frying Doom is on a mission to prove he is not. As for the rest, Hans, Two Step and myself talk pretty regular and are pretty solid on what we ~understand~. We all want to see POS's be a part of CCP's plans this year, it's just not going to happen all at once. Regardless of anything 'official' that CCP has or has not said, I walked away from the summit fairly convinced that SOME amount of love would be given to POS's in the very near future (spring). It's got nothing to do with my past employment (which ended three years ago BTW). Also, I'm hardly alone in my praise for CCP Unifex so pfffft.

Fair enough

So you are happy that CCP missed saying anything about POSs and left that for the CSM.

Funny over here we call that being pushed in front of a bus. If Two Step had not spoken up and a player or nut like myself had posted the quote Two Step did, what do you think the response would have been? polite like it is? courteous?

Also how far do you think fairly convinced would have gone if they announced the next expansion and it said nothing of POSs as their users are not worth the time?

Yes I admit the new way that CCP is looking at expansions is great but they way they did it was not. Giving with one hand and giving the appearance of cutting ones legs off with the other.

The fact that you, Two Step and Hans understand and are solid is great because from an external point of view it sure looked like you hung him out to dry.

As to the other, with your employment ending 3 years ago...fair enough but through out your term you really have looked like a CCP cheerleader. Just saying.

Oh and I never claimed to be a good poster.

Oh a couple of other things while I am here

Seleene wrote:

I look at the job of the CSM so what like the job of a union. What is the CSM states the scope of the CSM is
"The purpose of the CSM is to represent society interests to CCP. This requires active engagement with the player community to master EVE issue awareness, understanding, and evaluation in the context of the “greatest good for the greater player base”. The scope of issues is restricted only to EVE, its ongoing development, and limited meta (out-of-game) issues which have direct relevance to the EVE universe. It is important to keep in mind that the CSM will not have formal powers within CCP, they will have a voice inside CCP. "

You will notice the main parts of this

  • The purpose of the CSM is to represent society interests to CCP
  • This requires active engagement with the player community
  • “greatest good for the greater player base”
  • scope of issues is restricted only to EVE, its ongoing development, and limited meta (out-of-game) issues.
  • they will have a voice inside CCP.

So thought I would make this a bit easier.
Now do you believe you represented societies interests to CCP, while actively engaging with the player community for “greatest good for the greater player base” and voiced your concerns to CCP. When you give out a comment like "fairly convinced that SOME amount of love would be given to POS's in the very near future (spring). "

Now as i said you are our voice and worse the chairman of that voice and you are not sure something that 2300+ players felt strongly enough about to come to the forums and add their voice too, not really the voice of the people.

Also you will notice I am not alone in my belief ex-CCP employees should not be on the CSM, I direct you too

http://poeticstanziel.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/csm8-campaign-season-we-need-clean-slate.html
and the quote
"(Hell, I think any former CCP employee should be excluded from running for the CSM. Stick that in the White Paper, CSM.)"

So on that I am not alone and on the other I would say that 2300 people would agree that fairly convinced was not convinced enough.
