Eh, I was gonna say something else, but sure.

We use hardeners now, since apparently we use armor tanking ships.

Oooh hardners.. Completely forgot about those.. Mine are usually fail fit with hull-tanking mods.

Would the game become unplayable? i think it would. With CCP being in bed with Sony could Sony force EvE to be a multiple server game just like WoW? thus killing what makes eve special.

The only way you would get that huge jump in concurrent users is if all the other games out there became money grabbing FTP with shallow gameplay and dev teams that treated their playerbase like ****.

Oh. Wait....

multiple servers was the death of WoW's social aspect. in vanilla WoW you could ONLY play with people on your server unless you made a new character on another server. so, you'd be grouping with the same people regularly and you'd get to know people quite well just by playing the game instead of going out of your way to meet new people. you had to stand in the city monitoring the LFG/Trade channel for groups going to the dungeons you wanted to go to, and making friends with those people and being good at the game made grouping easier.

then came cross server battlegrounds/dungeons and paid name changes etc, and people had no reason to make friends or even be civil to one another and doing a dungeon was like playing a solo game with a random quality of npc companions and the only people you knew were the people you were in a guild with, it completely murdered the social aspect of the game with a rusty spoon.

as it stands, eve is like the vanilla wow setup. every time you log in it's the same people, you get to know them, you get to love them, you get to hate them, and when you start ******* around with multiple servers you end up murdering the social aspect of the game. if eve loses it's social aspect then it'll be a great loss.

Growth (as long as it's not too spikey) is fine but not needed at all, as long as we have enough influx to cover the quitters we're good. The old "must grow BIG" is exactly what got the world into financial trouble and it'll have the same effect on MMOs if done wrong. Thing is that growth itself to me is not an issue, the problem is that in order to get growth there's several ways of doing it and the worst way is to make the game more generic to (temporarily) attract more players.

If all the servers kept overloading the whole game would be put on a 30% TiDi I guess.

Just when I thought we had ran out of **** to whine about here comes another. EvE will die because of over-population? Really? People keep posting how EvE is already dying because of not enough players.

This could be fun.

Personally, I think EVE was quite a bit better when there were less participants.
