How does one repair their POS shield if its being attacked during a war?

The shield will repair itself, but very slowly. You can get 1 or more ships with `remote shield transporter` modules fitted, move outside the forcefield, lock the tower and start repping it up.

Ships such as the osprey, basilisk or scimitar for example are good ships to use for this kind of thing because they get a bonus for the shield transporters. If it's in lowsec or nullsec, you could also use carriers.

As stated, to rep a POS, fit a shield transporter module. Move outside of the POS shields (where you can be attacked), lock the POS tower... and activate the module. This will repair the POS shields.... slowly.... painfully slowly....

Be aware... there is an exploit here that can get you banned.

If you are in a highsec war, and you bring a neutral alt (i.e. a non-war-target character) in to repair the POS... there is a bug in the aggression mechanics that allows you to repair the POS without becoming a legal target for the war-deccing corp. As such, if they attack you, they get Concorded. Using this bug to provide unassailable reps to the POS is considered an EXPLOIT, and if someone petitions you for it, you can get a slap on the wrist up to, and including a short-term ban from the game.

Logistics ships (T1 or T2) with as many remote shield repairers as they can fit, and have multiple people in your corp doing it.

If you have a POS that has guns, you can remote hull and remote armor repair the guns and they can be onlined again, so when the enemy comes again the guns are online again.

Obviously you cannot do this with the enemy fleet surrounding your POS shooting it. You typically wait for them to bring your POS to reinforced mode (you do have strontium in your fuel bay, right?), at which point the POS becomes invulnerable and typically the enemy fleet goes away, planning to come back when the invulnerability timer counts down to 0.

That's when you can repair your shields, and if you manage to get them repaired enough, your POS goes back to normal mode and they have to reinforce it all over again.

Which is why the enemy may leave some combat pilots behind to harrass your repairers. You want to kill them off and/or have combat people ready to defend your repairers, and scouts watching the gates to give advance notice if the enemy comes back.

It's hours and hours of work, best done during the enemy's sleepy time.

Any ship with a bonus to shield transporter range will do. As you have to be outside the force field to rep, you need the extra range to rep the tower.

* Caldari Osprey (T1) [nicknamed "POSprey"]
* Caldari Basilisk (T2 Logistics)
* Minmatar Scythe (T1)
* Minmatar Scimitar (T2 Logistics)

Note that you don't have to rep defense module's shield, and only about 1% of structure, so it is mostly armor repping.

Sounds like this got fixed in the most recent patch

Using assistance modules on a Starbase owned by a corporation that is at war is now a Suspect offense, unless you are a member of the owning corp/alliance
