I learned a lot about some options in Eve from the youtube series "lets play Eve online" by Drogres. He engages in a free form play-style that uses the PVE elements of Eve to create interaction with other players.

As was said above, most well by Solstice Project, the players who try to avoid interaction are out there. Be careful of them, they want to lure others into their dead end ways.
