Planetary Interaction:Don't lose the scanned resource when I ditch my old extractor control unit

With Planetary Interaction....
It seems the game behaves differently if I scan for resources without interacting with an existing extractor control unit.
Because I if scan first and then remove the control unit(s) and add one or more new ones the scanned resource is not lost....
But if I inadvertenly activate the control unit and do scan from that, and then get rid of the unit, the memorization of the scanned raw material - eg Autotrophs gets lost on removal of the last control unit. So I have to wait for another scan for the same darned resource all over again. It's a royal pain in the arse. Can you NOT reset things to a blank setting and just retain the last scanned until I manually scan another. This would be far more user friendly. A fix ASAP would be most welcome.
