Greetings everyone. I have been exploring around for a little while but had a general ship questions. I currently use the Valk Probe ship as my exploration craft. Fitted with the launcher, codebreaker, analyzer, salvager, etc. so I can do any site that pops up.

I have begun getting into low / null sec exploration however and have run into problems. Mainly, the fact that the sites like Radar or Magne now have enemy's that guard the cans and alot of them seem to be far too much for my craft.

I am looking to upgrade into a fast ship that can handle low sec enemy's in these types of sites and would like suggestions. Something I can use to sneak past enemy gate blockades into the first low / null sec region and a ship that can also handle itself out there when necessary.

Any suggestions?

Racial stealthbomber or force recon are options if you just want a relatively cheap cloakwarper that can kill off a few guard cruisers and frigates to do the profession sites (not sure stealthbombers particularly good at killing npc frigates though). The scouting covops frigates are best at scanning, but worse than a t1 frigate at killing stuff.

As I dont fly T3s, I tend to stash some combat ships here and there so that as I explore I have a combat ship not too many jumps away if I want to do a combat site. You could do similar with a few cruisers for profession sites.

The common choices:
T1 cruisers (Vexor, Arbitrator etc.) with MWD and Cloak*
Cloaky recons (Pilgrim, Rapier etc.)
T3 ships (travel with cloaky subsystem, refit to combat in system)

Personally I wouldn't use stealth bombers, frigs (especially elite ones) are going to give you a really bad time

More to your question:
Depending on which rats you're doing, you might want to consider Assault Frigates. Wolf/Jaguar have 90% EM and 60-something% thermal resists that make them good vs Sansha and Blood rats. Sansha rats are going to give you grief with Tracking Disruptors though (and you're already in a frigate with relatively short range guns), while Blood are going to give you problems if you active tank. If your drone skills are up to it, Ishkur works too (probably better as well).
