I was wondering if anyone has a link or advice on how to start running bubblers for both camps and roams. I know there are a number of specific tactics on when to bubble and when to wait. Additionally I am having trouble winnowing the truth from the chaff on how to set stop and drag bubbles on a gate.

Finally I am interested on what experienced bubblers are flying beyond the cookie cutter sabres.

Tip 1: don't bubble until the FC says so. Just don't.

I wear my goggles at night.

Tip 2:

When someone with covops cloak jumps in, wait for them to drop cloak to bubble. Click approach with mwd already running, immediately hit max speed key. The idea is if they think they can get away with it, they'll cloak and warp. Bubble will stop them warping and they'll sit there with 0 velocity for 5 seconds. Easy decloak. If they think with their head, mwd+cloak and align to a celestial, you won't get them.

Tip 3:

Like any gate camps, have eyes on the other side to know when the gate flash is solo or first of many...

Tip 4:

If you're not in a Sabre, fit a cloak. If you're in a Sabre and not the only fast tackle, fit a cloak. If you're in doubt, fit a cloak.

Tip 5:

Be ready to manage the rage from all the cloaky nullified T3s you'll see.

Tip 6:

CCP gave you a large cargo hold. They meant for you to carry 60+ probes. It will matter when you tackle that cap and need to keep it bubbled while every blue, slightly blue and sorta light red you can find take 20 minutes to arrive.

The best way to set up drag/catch bubbles is to align to the object, burn until you are the desired distance from the gate, and create a bookmark. In my opinion anchored mobile warp disruptors are better for this task. If you know your targets likely destination, getting a system or two ahead and creating a bookmark mid-warp in between gates and coming back to drop a bubble works very well.

Sabre aside, your dictor is not really much of a dessy, fitting a cloak is a good idea. You need to live comfortably with the idea that your ship is a T2 flying coffin. Expect to be primaries. If you get popped, you will most likely be in your own interdiction sphere and thus a party to your subsequent podding. Fit for speed and agility, savvy manual piloting is your tank, do not fool yourself into fitting otherwise.

Do not launch your bubble until ordered to do so. If you are gate camping, have eyes on the other side. Make sure your FC keeps friendly ships out of your likely bubble zones, if you can avoid it don't screw up your on grid warp avenues if you have any.

The only implants you should have are cheap velocity hardwirings.

Tactics.
To use your dictor efficiently there are some things you must do when you jump into a system. The first thing i do is get a good visual picture of where the system's other gates are, and where celestials likely to be warped to are in relation to where the gate your gang is camping is. If there is a cluster of objects (usually sun + inner planets) you might be able to block them all with a bubble 75-150 km off the gate. If you have nothing to do but wait build up bookmarks for these spots as well as an on grid bm 250km+ from your other bookmarks so you can quickly warp to your bm and drop a bubble. The other way to run things is by placing catch bubble BMS 250+ km away so you can hang on the gate and use it as your staging area rather than sitting 250 km off the gate.
The utility an interdictor brings to your gang is the ability to prevent multiple ships from engaging warp, regardless of lock. This is a defensive as well as offensive role.
Be able to fly all four dictors, fly the cheapest you can. The saber is (in my opinion) the only dictor that can still do its job as a dessy, which is probably why it commands a higher price. Again, be prepared to get stranded in your pod in one of your bubbles. You aren't a dictor pilot until you are a guilty party on your own KM.
