can someone explain this game to me, i got fifa and i can never get past semi-pro difficulty, obviously i know nothing about soccer, i would probably have been a freak for it if it were on TV, but americans/me ignore things they suck at, so yea what are some elite tactics that english people use to school each other? how do i keep the other team from scoring, i hate it when they get goals. in fact how do i just keep them out of my zone altogether.. i play as milan if it matters

I know nothing abou football, but friends tell me you need to pass the ball around.

Your midfield players are there to feed the ball to the strikers, and your defence guys are there to not just defend but feed to ball to the midfield players.

I detest the game in its entirety, and have had to sit there either playing the game on ps3 or sit through an entire afternoon and evening listening to friends talk about it. Not to mention the years spent being forced to play the game at school.

I think they should just have the next World Cup be the last football game ever and whoever wins, wins football. No need for any other competitions.

Maybe one day ill walk into a bar and the game the men are watching is women's trampolining, because that at least would make more sense.

But I guess looking at pretty boys with designer haircuts is more interesting to real men...especially after they miss the guy with the gloves on with their ball and they all kiss each other, or the bit at the end when they strip off...

This space for rent.

I heard the best way to play is to fake an injury

Play as Argentina, you can get away with using your hands then :Maradona:

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

In Germany we have a prophet whose words are deeply imprinted into our collective consciousness.

OK, it's not the guy you are thinking about right now.

His name (blessed be) is Sepp Herberger.

Just let me quote (with all respect and piety) some of his suras:

-The round thing goes into the square thing.

-The ball is round and a game takes 90 minutes

- The next game is always the most difficult.

-The fastest player is still the ball.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Some common beginner mistakes

Always sprints

Excessive use of sliding tackle(few situations needs it)

runs too much with the ball. play it around and don't be afraid to send it back to a team mate behind you if there is no opening.

too many high ball passes.

in general the more you have the ball the more likely you are to win.

Btw. try some other teams. italian football is kinda boring and defensive. it might be smart to to start of with lower ranked teams since it won't go as fast.

P**** Rugby is not FOOTBALL!

Anyway. when you play with a new team try to look at their formations and play to it. Different formation require different play style.
