out of 2.4 billion in assets by the corp Gangnam style, I applied to the corp, wass accepted and my recruiter said he'd ship my things down to null sec for me , since I had an orca, hulk and a BPO among several fittings, thinking I could trust my new corpmate I courier contracted the assets to him, worth around 2.4 billion, and the next morning I was kicked from the corp, so in short I'm left with 5 mil isk roughly, what should I do now to get back on track after losing 8 months of progress?

You should have said "ha ha, you got me, but i still want to join the corp" then work your way slowly up the ranks, then clean them out in a year.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

This is probably more of a Crime and Punishment thread... I'm sorry this happened to you, its an expensive lesson. Sounds like you have enough for a Venture to start mining again.

Except they want a 'security' deposit, as well as 2.6 bil in assets

Anyone asking for any kind of deposit like that is usually a scam.

If you ever need to give anything to anyone ask yourself this: Would I care if I didn't get it back?

If the answer to the above is 'yes' then just don't give it to them in the first place and find something else to do in EVE.

Well you don't need isk for that.

You could recover your losses from this in a fraction of the time if you find a trustworthy 0.0 industry corp which is recruiting. They're rare, like the elusive yeti, but do exist. Just keep looking.

IT has been said more times on these forums then I care to count.

And it will be said once again.

Never fly what you can't afford to lose.
Never bring all your assets to Null.

you got fooled right there.

any corp truly looking for members doesn't want any "security deposits".

think of this as a lesson for your life on EVE. altho a 2.4bil lesson might be a wee bit expensive...

Just pick up the pieces and start again, it happens. (I've been there)

The knowledge you have gained about the game is far more valuable than the 2.6 bil you lost, it won't take you anywhere near 8 months to regain that.

If the person isn't highly reputable, require a collateral in the contract.

What do you do from here?
Learn your lesson. Don't trust people with all your stuff, that you can't visit in RL and break their legs. Or have known for a long time, preferably before you started playing eve.

Work up from the ground. It will be a lot easier this time, since you have some skills trained at least. My reccomendation? Salvage for people. make enough to buy a ratting ship, then mission, or join a 0.0 alliance and run anoms solo or with someone else. You'll make the money back in full fairly quickly.

The first rule of nullsec is that anything you take there is already lost.

Still, you have 5mil ISK. Play market games, or buy a Venture, some cheap lasers, and go mine for a while. Or a frigate and run missions. Or a cheap BPO, some minerals, and make ammo.
