Seems everyone has the same avatar...why people have the same one and they don't spend time creating their own....

Because this is a spaceship game. Pew Pew is the aim. Everyone knows avatars are lame : /

Edit: Well obviously not everyone knows avatars are lame...

We currently have the world's greatest linguists and scientists trying to decode what you just said.

honestly, there is not much customization, you create a toon and there is probly over 1000 other toons that looks almost just like it. piecing and hair might be different but the same face is there.

they look the same because they are generated from the same engine and process.

but i think we spend more time than is commonly thought making our avatars.

i also think that people then rarely revisit to adjust, because of internet spaceship time>eyebrow needs to be higher time.

Avatars are nice and all, but they add nothing to gameplay purposes besides adding a lol or wtf to a killmail

Interesting, some picture proof would be nice.

Perhaps if a bunch of characters look all the same they might be made by the same person.

Hmmm now that should provide hours of entertaining conspiracy SmileSmileSmile

I know a few people and their alts made just in this fashion. theyre all nearly alike or very similar

On that note i honestly think it comes down to personal taste as there's so much variety in avatars i can see some from different people looking alike though they are clearly separate people (well unless you have a split personality disorder... Shocked )

well generally ,for people who actively participate in discussions online in the forum apparently has an inclination to be more sociable and have a strong sense of individuality among them.
So far, from the avartars of the people who are replying to this thread , I don't really see that much repetitions.
HOWEVER , for miners , that is an entirely difference situation.
Carebear alts are often only used as an isk bank , with no real emotional attachment or sentiment towards those toons beyond iskies iskies iskes . Its natural to see them look quite... "stock"

everyone was overly jealous of the brutor's sunglasses so they over compensated by putting sunglasses on everything!

and maybe everyone creating similar avatars symbolizes something about the ideal male face? and I mostly just pressed random a bunch of times for most of my characters, I think chainsaw is the only one I spent much (and it wasn't really all that much) time on.

The old system allowed more distinct characters despite being 'old' or 'outdated'.

Presumably more people than just myself didn't care to be forced to create a new 3d avatar simply to log in and shoot stuff.

Not everyone is a good sculptor - I see many players gave up trying to create non-ugly avatars.

If you wish to see a truly unique face, look upon the visage of NickyYo.

I chose my face as I wanted to look like a generic 80s/90s hollywood east german baddie. I feel that my avatar should convey to people what I am about to do or how they should react.
