Sovereignty of the Minmatar Republic

The Fatman's plasma thrusters light up as the frigate is flown into the dark tunnel entrance, with little luminosity Zante will have to fly the frigate using the ship's sensors, and trust that the path-finder drone whose route they will be following has done an accurate job in measuring the size of the tunnels.
“We should have brought a smaller ship, maybe shuttle or something small in size” says Zante.
“The Tristan was the only available ship in the hanger small enough to fit through these tunnels, it was also the only ship which we could get about our business without attracting unwanted attention” replies Victor.
“It would also have made flying this thing in a pod a lot easier than doing it manually, why did you request I fly it manually old man?” asks Zante.
“Because you said you were the best pilot the Republic Military School has ever had, I wanted to put that to a test” replies Blindwolf with a smirk.
“I said I was one of the best, not the best” replies Zante.
“Oh, back peddling are we, that is not what I remember” replies Blindwolf.
“Maybe your age is catching up to you” quips Zante.
“I maybe old, but I am not quite at that stage yet my dear boy, but never mind you are a good enough pilot to fly the ship the old fashioned way I am sure” replies Blindwolf.
“You have more faith in him than he has in himself” says Victor addressing Blindwolf.
“Relax Amarrian, I know what I am doing” replies Zante, with a scowl on his face.

The ship moves slowly through the narrow under ground tunnels of the moon, like most ships built by New Eden's ship builders the Tristan class frigate was built with a large head light in front of the vessel, the head light only served its purpose in time of docking and un-docking, or waiting in queue to use many of New Eden's jump gates, which transported ships from solar system to another in a blink of an eye, in this instance it will be used to provide light, so that Zante could see visually where he flying; sensors and on consoles could only tell you so much.
“I cannot stress again how much easier this would have being had I been flying in my pod old man” says Zante addressing Blindwolf.
“You pilots of today have it to easy, back when I was doing it we had to do it manually, a bridge and his crew had to trust each other, act in sync with each other and as the captain we valued that, we came to know our crew, treated them as human beings, and in return they respected us. In today's world you pod pilots are locked up in a bubble of your own, never meeting your crew, never forming relations, you expect them to treat you as Gods, and you are left bewildered when you find out that they despise you” Replies Blindwolf.
Zante glances at the old man and says nothing, knowing that the old man was right, he himself was guilty of such behaviour. He focuses all his attention on the task at hand, flying this small vessel, through the moon's arteries.

The moon was primarily made of silicate rock, in the tunnels the rock's composition varied black in colour to being crystal like silver in various places which could be easily be spotted when they reflected the light from the ships front light beam. Slowly the ship flies through the tunnel, on a few occasions, the dimensions narrow leaving on a few centimetres between the ships armour plating and cold hard rock.

A few minutes later the ship exits the tunnel it has been travelling in and enters a large carven.
“Wow, would you look at that” says Blindwolf, with a smile on face. He continues, “it is still the way I left it, nothing has changed at all, it's the magic of a vacuum environment everything is eternally the same”.
The Carven is large, five-hundred meters wide, and one-hundred-thirty meters from the floor to the celling, It was composed of mainly luminous silicate rocks which shown bright as the reflected the ship's front light beam, huge icicles hang from the celling. “See those up there?” Blindwolf points at the icicles on the carven celling, “we planted explosives in between some of the spaces, it was done as a defence mechanism in case this place was discovered by the Amarr navy”.
“So you have been in this place?” asks Zante whilst starring at the icicles.
“Yes, this is places was called base Rifter, in the months leading to the rebellion it was a base of operations for coming up with strategy which we could use when fighting the Amarr in a rebellion” says Blind wolf.
“Wait...what....you..were alive during the time of the great rebellion?” asks Zante
“Yes, I was a young man, my tribe and many others escaped the day of darkness attack by the amarr they roamed space for many years, in and out of Gallente space mainly, I was born during those terrible nomadic times” replies Blindwolf.
“But the rebellion was in the year 23216, that is 126 years ago, just how old are you?” asks Zante.
“Old enough to be your father's Grandfather” replies Blindwolf.
“You are talking in riddles again old man” replies Zante.
“Everything will be clearer to you in due time, have patience” replies Blindwolf.
“We need to get moving, and find the entrance to the base” says Victor, who has up to this point been studying the holographic map intensely. “below us, seventy meters ahead, at the end of the carven, the first gate should be there” says Victor. The ship is flown to the coordinates where the gate should be.

As the ship approaches the coordinates a large circular metallic door big enough for a cruiser to fly through comes into view, Zante stops the ship twenty meters from the door.
“What now?” he asks.

“We can unlock the entrance remotely from on on-board the ship, before we left the station I fitted a radio wave transmitter to the ship, it will give off the correct signals to a receiver built into the gate which will unlock the entrance, providing its not broken of-course”. Says Victor.
“Radio waves, a bit ancient” replies Zante.
“You have to remember the times when the technology was used” replies Victor.

The entrance is activated remotely, the large circular door splits in half, each half sliding away from the centre and into a space in the rock it is built in, behind the large gate there is a large area seventy meters in length, at the other end of the area, there is another large circular gate.
“This area in-between the two gates was a security measure, you would have to go through both gates in order to get to the base”. Says Blindwolf.

“Would I be right in assuming that this area is booby trapped as well?” asks Zante.

“No, it is not, we didn't have time for that, we were acting in haste and we were under resourced” replies Blindwolf. The ship slowly approaches the second gate, “When we send the signal to the receiver in gate two gate one will start to close, and only when gate one is fully closed will gate two start to open. That was the only security measure that we had time to put in place” says Blindwolf.

When the signal is sent to the receiver to activate the second gate it slides open revealing a large hanger bay. The hanger bay is a large area with four large landing pads where the ship can be parked; cables with attached magnetic couplings on every pad are used to hold the ship in position preventing it from drifting in any direction acting as a hand brake would on a parked vehicle.

“You need to land the ship as close as to the base entrance as possible, so we don't have to travel far in our space suits”.
“I assumed this area was oxygenated? It is normally the case on asteroid colonies which are built into the rock, like this base” asks Zante.
“It was, but we just down the life support system in this part before the rebellion started, it was consuming to much power having to circulate the air around this large area”. Replies Blindwolf. Zante manoeuvres the ship to one of the front left hand side pads, he stops the ship there. The crew wear their space suits and exist the “Fatman” they attach the magnetic couplings to the “Fatman” and make there way to the base's entrance.
