As the final ship docks up in Jita, the last miner departed New Eden and were cleansed off the world as James the Horrible grabs hold of the throne of CSM.
Forming a new empire off the ruins of Jita .. Proclaiming himself the Ruler of the Terran Federation.
Any ships that mines will spontaneously explodes.
James stands in his lair , looking over the horizon as the sun finally set for the Empire on which the sun never sets.
However.... what would be left of EvE when the day comes....
The day all miners stop mining?

1st week:
Ships and ammo becomes increasingly rare , large scale thousand man fleet battles ceases.
Large corps start reprocessing dreadnoughts , ECM Battleships and tertiary support ships for minerals.
Previous manufacturers faces an impending mineral shortage , they start hoarding the minerals ,thinking the miners will return one day .
Null sec corps security details are strained, entrance system defense and perimeter patrols are spread thin.

2nd week :
Minerals and parts resoruces dwindle to crictical level.
On an attempt to gain more minerals through wrecks . CFC declares war on NC, Solar Fleet, TEST,Pandemic Legion and Noir Mercenary Group.
Code name : Operation Judgement
Delve , Syndicate and Fountain burns for 4 days and 4 night .
Smaller null sec alliances and corps pull resources back from foreign deployment and secure the perimeter in their home systems.
Small gang pvp disappear entirely, majority of pvp battles are fought as gate camps with majority of them being Amarr ships fielding laser turrets.
Carrier support becomes much more prominent as every ship is more precious than Quafe Shirts.

3rd week :
CFC , NC-Dot , Solar was all that was left behind in the carnage. They declares a truce and banded together to form the New Conglomerate.
Battleruiser class vessels became the Titan equivalent of today as global Titans population drop to less than 30 .
Null sec and low sec activity drops to minimal level.

4th week :
High sec mission running and R&D becomes the norm .
Ammo and ships becomes the only recognized currency in EvE. Jita population dwindled from 3000 to 60 .

5th week :
Players start leaving EvE. Player and subscriber counts drop below 70k and the number of active players in the server at any moment diminishes to thousands . Mission running activity dropping to minimal level. The remaining players take to the Worm Holes , hoping to survive the apocalypse by doing PI .

6th week :
Sensing GREAT DISTURBANCE in the force as MILLIONS OF SOULS perished under EvE malnorishment. The Jove sent in an elite battalion to settle the conflict ONCE AND FOR ALL.
They call themselves the Jovi Sovereignty

You could stop mining for a year and nobody would notice. There are enough stockpiled ships and ammo that new supply is largely irrelevant.

Anyway, James 315 wants to make legitimate miners richer and more prosperous by killing the bots. Why are you against this? What are you hiding?

can we talk about afk cloaking?

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

To be honest, I can't think of a better thing for the game than to have all mining cease for a month.

The day all miners stop mining?

1st week:
No ammo, everyone switches to T1 laser crystals...

Gallente Pilots are affected a little bit later...

2nd week :
Lasers!

And salvagers, lots of salvagers... Gun Mining becomes popular again, despite it's ineffectiveness.

3rd week :
sounds like lots of roams with noob ships and lasers. the Drake as a pvp Titan sounds unrealistic as nobody can afford missiles anymore, so the Amarr eve is finally complete. :)

4th week :
see week two.

5th week :
lol, eve becomes f2p, new miners enter the game. :P

6th week :
everything starts anew

fixed. :P

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

2nd week : other people start mining because the whining losers who stopped mining rather than fught back are no longer hexdupal boxing all the roids.

3rd week: Profit

Fixed for you.

Most vets have never ran career agent missions, they were made after the player was beyond that.

If you went around to the 3 schools, 4 empires and did all 12 lines you would get
12 Venture
24 Industrials, 6 Sigil, 6 Badger, 6 Wreathe, 6 Iteron
I'm not sure how many T1 frigates you get. At least as many as you get Industrials of varying kinds.
Add in the 12 destroyers.

By months end trial accounts would out number paid subs by 100:1

Let me put it this way

CCP won't let any single group destroy their cash cow. If, and that's a big if, any one group came close to damaging their subscription numbers enough to impact CCP's revenues in a significant fashion, you can bet that CCP's bean counters will start screaming bloody murder about how Hilmar isn't getting a bonus this year.

At that point, CCP will artificially shift the balance of power in the game universe in a way that will make everyone equally unhappy.

The fact that this hasn't (to my knowledge) ever happened says a lot more about the stability of Eve than you might suppose.

And before you even say "BUT GOONS AND TEST!"
Yeah, they're pretty big (20k+ members between them I think), but if history has taught us anything it's that empires become exponentially harder to control the larger they become. Goons and Test wield a lot of power in game, to be sure, but it's not an insurmountable amount, and, more importantly, they aren't damaging the game (regardless of what the haters will say).

tl;dr: LOL thinking that CCP would let players kill their paychecks, "sandbox" or not.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.
