Could the Naga become a torp boat in the upcoming balance changes?

Talos is a heck of a brawler Naga a heck of a sniper. When you can perfectly fly both you know which one you'll take to your fleet/gang.

I'm not saying Caldari should not have some tier 3 BC able to spit missiles but those rails are do dam perfect on it imho it would be a waste of the hull for tears and moaning.

Already expect:

"meh wants to shoot torps at 200km with +10% dmg per BC lvl"

"meh wants cruise missiles with +25% dmg per BC lvl"

Whatever, I can fly them all and use whatever crap they might put on it, call me when it's done plz.

for some reason the naga usecases overlap with those of the oracle.

however, its an excellent ship and CCP should absolutely NOT remove its current functionality. adding missile functionality would be cool, but really difficult

I hope to god not. Naga is probably my favourite sniper boat and that insta-damage matters.

Naga has a couple of excellent roles:

- It easily does the best damage at 100~120km
- It can be configured to hit good damage at ~250km (can be useful to hit stuff sitting at tacticals)

I can't see CCP adding 8 launcher hardpoints and a launcher bonus as well as the gun hardpoints and bonuses.

For functionality I'd agree with you, but;

Even if the ship sucked, an 8 launcher naga with torpedoes would LOOK pretty cool when firing. Completely ineffective except against caps (Rage torps, 8 launchers, ROF bonus, would vomit DPS), but cool-looking ineffectiveness.

Maybe when a balance pass hits battleship launchers then the naga could take a deserved place as a torpedo boat I guess?

It's deserved place is as the railgun sniper it already is.

When the battleships get rebalanced, there is a chance that the Caldari will get a new attack battleship, this can be you're torp boat brawler. Not the Naga. Never the Naga.

Torps and Cruises suck.

Now granted torp fits have a few niche uses, but you don't want torps fitted on anything fighting sub-BS pew pew.

You most definitely don't want torps on your mobile oversized guns platform.

Why would you want a gimped ship?
Missiles suck, and upcoming patch is going to nerf them even more.

It would be cooler if Naga had drones or something else.

I was actually annoyed they didn't put the Naga as torps, but after having flown it, I'm glad to say I was wrong. Rail naga is awesome.

I don't get why everyone is freaking out about adding torp function to the Naga.

Nothing else on the ship would change. All it would get is 8 launcher hard points that could fit Torps only. Addin a leveled bonus of say 5% rate of fire per bc level. Nothing else would change. Then you still have the great rail sniper, and you have a high dps torp boat when killing structures or cap ships.

So, your saying a Rail Naga is really effective against caps? Or anything sub BS at mid/close range and moving at all?

Sorta on point, there really needs to be an 8 launcher missile ship, and no, Torps didn't get hit with the nerf bat, they actually got a slight buff with the extra skills and rigs that now apply to give them boosts.

It didn't keep the missiles b/c CCP decided it would look ******** b/c they were lazy on the missile hardpoint rework and didn't have it even half started in time for Naga launch. Also, a Torp Naga is appropriate bonuses wouldn't suck, and would be in no way as OP as a blaster Talos. Which btw, the most common pvp Talos fit is a shield tank, which the Naga does better with only slightly less DPS but better range.

I don't use missiles, i wouldn't care less, but that's how it's already works on turrets. Besides using tracking computers or enhancers when not disrupted is going to reduce normal damage degradation, similar to how it works for turrets.
