Can anyone put it into perspective?
Hobgoblins = 1/4 frigate
Hammerheads = 1/2 frigate
ogres = frigates?

Fighters = cruisers?
Bomber fighters = battlecruisers?

In terms of their respective dps a flight of five hoby IIs equals what? How about hammer heads and ogre IIs?

I dont think ive seen a page that placed all these into perspective, so what the general consensus?

fighters are more akin to frigates, while fighter bombers are on par with cruisers -- or such is my understanding.

Is this a question of their individual DPS output?

Or is this a question of their usefulness? That's where the sizes really matter.

Lights are useful against frigs.
Meds against Cruisers.
Heavy against BS.
Fighters against Caps.

Their actual DPS output is fractional of a real ship. Otherwise Carriers wouldn't need other players for escort Lol

EDIT:
To answer the first question, EFT works wonders Big smile

PvP Punisher = 145 dps
5x Hob II = 150 (33 each)
5x Hammer II = 240 (50 each)
5x Ogre II = 480 (100 each)
5x Firbolg = 500 (100 each)
*numbers rounded*

So... a single Ogre/Firbolg is almost comparable to a PvP frig. But a wing of drones is better.

Select the drone in question in the market window, look at the info tab, click on the picture for a full-sized view. It'll give you the measurements along its axis, which should allow an approximate idea for how big they are (though that said, they do seem to take up an abnormally small amount of space for their size. What is it, 5 m^3 for a hobgoblin? And yet the thing has a thirty meter long axis?)

Perhaps it's better not to know, or else... like me... you'll realise that the vast majority of ships are completely disproportionate relative to one another. Sometimes I'm inclined to wonder if they even -tried- to get it right.

Oh, fun fact. Just checked on the Hobgoblins: 30m long axis, and yet three of them can fit inside an Imicus. And they each take up just 5 m^3 of space. Super-transformer-drones, perhaps?

!!Science!! is required to solve this dilemma!

This is what I was looking for, their combined DPS. Good stuff, I havent dabbled in eft much to actually look at the drone dps
