PS3 has a keyboard and mouse and DUST supports them.

So Migrate EVE to PS3 and all will be fine :)

Sony paid for DUST to remain PS3 only for a year.

Oh and for obvious reasons you HAVE to get ps3 keyboard/mouse if you want to be competitive.

I can only hope this abortion otherwise known as Dust514 that introduces console scrubs into general population doesn't **** up the play content 99% of us are here to enjoy. IE EVE online.

Like most EVE players I couldn't care less if CCP want to go sink their cash into a b grade first person shooter that makes the Battlefield 2042 appear good by comparison. A better use of the investment could have been to further develop Eve play content that is accessible to most players. Perhaps fleshing out walking in stations content so there is some game play associated with it. Adding on some actual play content that builds on the room, the hallway, and balcony view of the hangar which seemingly no play content after the first 5 minutes. A casino could have been cool. Point being if there was something to actually do in the walking in station environment players would likely do it.

Alternatively continue to invest heavily in trashy console content and other dead end projects (World of Darkness) that will ultimately miss the mark with your customers.

That is all move along now.

Oh I wouldn't go that far, by in large PS3 could never support EvE. The loss of visual beauty alone would be enough to make me quit playing EvE.

I think CCP did a bang up job with DUST, but visually, I think they should have developed their own engine for bringing DUST to PS3 instead of using Unreally Bad Graphics 3 (Unreal Engine 3). Unfortunately, until next gen consoles arrive I'm afraid that DUST will not be nearly as visually pleasing as other games in the genre, such as the Battfield 3, MW, or COD.

Few questions if anyone knows the answer..

- How will Dust players travel between planets, systems, regions? Can Eve players mess with their means of transportation?

- Will their presence be limited to empire space? Can they enter null sec sovereignty systems?

- Will there be possibility to set standings for Dust corps/Alliances separate from Eve standings?

I belive there will be a null-sec DUST expantion in the future. As for travel... DUSTie need a lift? 100kkBig smile

Looks like you fell in love CCP's propaganda cinematics which never ware true.
I bet DUST players will have "Choose spawn location" window. Thats it.

Do you remember Incrusion discussion? Ppl were speculating that Sanshas will be able to disturb trade lines by camping gates, stations and what we get? Green system nebulae and debuff to ship reses. No real impct of system, no threat at all.
Get a real!
CCP cinematics are full of bull*hit as always.

I gave a crap in 2009 when DUST was announced as a multi-platform experience which might have meaningful impact on my EVE Gameplay.

I was seriously looking forward to both an EVE-related FPS in which I could directly participate on my PC AND an experience which was proposed to impact null-sec Sovereignty as well as other planetside-based resources. Neither of these concepts were realized in this iteration of DUST.

Here we are in 2013 with a meaningless console game (on an aged platform) which has diverted CCP's resources away from EVE for the past 3.5 years and on which CCP's dreams of gold-via-FTP gaming are based. Furthermore, CCP has tremendous perceived competition in the revived Planetside IP on PC -- a venture put forth by their very partners in the DUST 514 initiative.

Soo.. This new wonderful dust integration only works with faction warfare.. So me as null pvp'er, low sec pirate and hisec industrialist will never see and hear about these "dusters" and also they wont affect my gameplay in any circumstances.. Great!! A patch with zero gameplay content.. While still retribution bugs remain unfixed.. Like for example dmg bug which shows 30% damg when undocking. Or tracking distrubt bug. Or the center on probes bug..

Cant even play that stupid dust cause i dont have playstation. And im not buying one neither. Allready got xbox and pc.. Alltho i wouldnt play fps game with console anyways cause thats just stupid..

Just saying...

I'm thrilled that Retribution gave me the option to put fat bounties on stupid forum posters.

When will there be an API so dust players can authenticate to forums which are 'secure'?

Quote:
Do I get kill reports for the players I kill?

Unfortunately you do not receive kill reports. The damage dealt by your strike will be displayed as a damage notification in your log and it includes the name of the DUST victim and the suit he's wearing (or the type and owner of a vehicle that you hit).

This needs to be fixed before release. Seriously NEEDS to be fixed.

You assumed it would be on PC, despite clear announcements otherwise.
DUST will affect null sec and planetary resources, one step at a time impatient one.
DUST is fairly big news in the gaming industry.
PS3 or PS4, it doesn't really make a difference and playing on either system when the PS4 is finally released isn't really an issue.
Planetside is not direct competition for EvE or DUST.
CCP has a seperate team working on DUST, other than some of the integration features... that's what those people were hired for.

And finally it's CCP's money and resources to allocate to make their company stronger, not yours. I have a great more faith in the business sense of the people at CCP than I have in you my anonymous internet expert. To NOT diversify would be the stupid move. You'd realize that if you weren't being so childishly selfish and judgemental. Smile
