"Thanksgiving" for Dowtime

I just want to say thank you to CCP for the daily half hour downtime that keeps things running as smoothly as possible for all players with minimal wait times for server reboots. The only other MMO I play is SWTOR, which is having a dowtime, starting roughly now, of eight hours. While I'll actually be in bed within the next six, and I'm not really a huge TOR fan boy, I do love Star Wars and it's a shame to be denied access to my game for such a long period of time. Hence, it is one of the reasons why I consider EVE to be so superior to other MMOs, and even other games in general.

I haven't played any other MMOs, but what are other peoples' experiences with downtimes in comparison to EVE and what are your thoughts?

Back when I played UO (2000-2004) downtime was a solid hour but they did begin reducing it later on. DT for UO and EVE occurs at the same time and I usually just took it as a subtle hint to finally go to bed.

Unless I am mistaken, the average downtime for EVE these days is more like 10 minutes Big smile And although this thread does talk about EVE, as its also talking about other games I'm going to move it over to OOPE - ISD Type40.

It's more EVE related than other game related. Please put it back. I wanted this thread to articulate my appreciation for the work and careful planning that CCP put into this game. The reference to TOR was a comparison, like any decent articulation (like an essay) has.
