Starting Caldari epic arch: Standings, really?

So I looked at a guide and it said you need 7.0 standing with either Caldari state (Pretty impossible - I've been doing missions for Caldari navy for about 3 years and its only up to 5.53) or "Expert distribution", of which I have no standing and can only find one level 3 agent for them.

Am I really expected to do level 3 missions for expert distribution all the way up to 7 standing with them to start the epic arc? Isn't that like, hundreds of level 3 missions?

Standings modified by Social skills are accepted by the Agents. Normally it's easier to have the Faction standing above -2.00 and raise the Corporation standing to the required amount for Agent access.

If after 3 years of running missions for CN your State standing is only 5.53 you're doing something wrong.

since the agent reshuffle it's been more difficult to find security missions with expert distribution.

that said, the Onivura system (coincidentally the same system where the caldari epic arc begins) is home to an Expert Distribution storyline agent. running any missions in the area and accepting the storylines is a good way to raise your ED standing to an appropriate level.

It typically takes me a little over a weekend to grind level 1 to 4 combat missions from 0 to 6.7 standing with a corp.

That being stated, Expert Distributions doesn't have a level 4 security agent in hisec (there is only one agent and in nulsec), but they do have a lot of level 1 / 2 / 3 security agents.

My Caldari state standing is 7.54 unmodified (7.84 effective). You were saying?
