I dont know where to post this, so if an admin could move it to the correct location would be great.

Posted eve Gameplay center>> Crime & Punishment.

A few questions, as I don't see how this can be correct or working as intended.

I filed a petition to the bug team. The reply was : game working as intended.

The File, and problem: "I am conducting a L1 mining Mission, an NPC rat yellowed box then red boxed me, but did not hit ( No red circle). I launched drones and killed said NPC rat. The wreck is yellow, meaning it does not belong to me, though i killed it. Next I tried to loot that same wreck, but had to move the safety from green to yellow, now i have a suspect flag. Is this correct game play with the new flag system in place. "

Reply... working as intend.....

I have been playing Eve for about 2 going on 3 years, and have done my fair share of L4s but have never had a yellow wreck.

So why is the wreck yellow in the first place. I was not in a fleet, i did kill the rat. What I am i missing.?

Also today I had a weapons flags, for shooting a wreck (one that I killed) is this working as intened also?

While i do love all the new toys and graphics the people at CCP are putting into the game. But somehow some of the new systems do not seem right... IE "Anyone can have a bounty placed on them"? In my eyes thats about as stupid as stupid can get. Why not make it part of kill rights. You can place the bounty on the person who aggressed you up to 30 days after the event happend? My star map, "Ships destroyed" in past hour, leads me to believe the new safety/flag system is partially broken... as the new player solar systems are hotter than HED.

PS did we really spin this though test server whatever its called now, before going live?

If you ever have any doubts about the ownership of a wreck (as far as the game client is concerned).

1. Take note of the colour of the wreck
2. Show info on it and see if your face / corp logo shows on it.
3. If you can't blue it, then you shouldn't scoop or shoot it either. Even if you are certain it's yours, it isn't.

Perhaps something went wrong, perhaps it's a bug with the new system. Heaven knows it's horribly broken at the moment so you should probably push for a senior GM to be involved. The people that answer petitions in the first instance are quite often horribly clueless.

The yellow wreck thing seems kind if fishy. But ask yourself, was it really worth the trouble of petitioning CCP over a belt rat wreck from a Level 1 mining mission? Maybe for you it was, I don't know.

The bounty system is, indeed, working as intended. Your plan of tying it to kill rights would mean that you could only place bounties on people who gank you. Bounties are not meant to be a punishment for pirates (most of whom revel in carrying high bounties, anyway), but rather as a means to send a sign that you want somebody killed. Maybe because they ganked you, maybe because they mined in your belt, maybe because you don't like their bio - it's all the same.

Thank you Bot.

As far as troubling CCP over a L1 Mission rat, yes. ... Lets take that up a few notches.. L4 Overseer? Complex? Faction Spawn? Officer?

By rights it should be yours, but its not.. its yellow. Thats broken.

Forgot to add.

Thank you Bot,

i did not think of the bounty system that way... In other words. Some people have money to **** way by placing bounties on people they dont know.

Good to know

One way this can happen, which doesn't seem to be excluded by your description of the problem, is when you take the mission on another character and give a bookmark to someone else, e.g. your alt, then do the mission on your alt. Any wrecks still belong to the person taking the mission and will appear yellow to the "other" person that is doing the mission.

May not be your problem but it's possible.

Voetius, Thank you.

at first i thought that was the case. But no, i was solo, no fleet. Would make sense though. Maybe i was bugged for the day.

Thank you for the response though. As that was my first thought.

What iv seen regarding the yellow wrecks appearing after you kill a rat in a belt.

Someone else have engaged the NPC before you and warpped out without killing it. NPC Shield recharge. You come in and kill it.
If someone else started killing the rat but didnt finish it, iv seen it turn yellow, problally calculated on the ammount of damage done.

As this is a lvl 1 mission you are talking about.. Was this yours or an alts? As someone already said, even though you fly solo, if someone else accept the mission the wrecks will turn yellow.
