Eve runs great in ubuntu, I'm still on 10.04 currently with latest wine. I'm using the proprietary Nvidia drivers with no issues. I still have the jukebox bug but there's an easy fix that I just haven't gotten around to doing. AA and eve voice both work.

You Migraine May Vary.

But for me Debian Squeeze with wine 1.3.xx and both an ATI HD4850 and nvidia GTX550 Ti with proprietary drivers has worked great. You may run into trouble with an older card though.
