Is buying PLEX a bad thing?

in the long run. would you rather. Buy plexes to get that pretty deadspace fitted ship or would you rather be boring and just make that isk by mining or ratting ?

if there's a ship or implant set I just -can't- wait for, I'll buy plex. but there are other things like novelty characters from 2003, or sp-capable characters that cost tens of billions of ISK, and I can't see myself buying Plex for those.
