Can't zoom on star map

I don't know if this is just with my computer or not. most likely is, but I wanted to see if anyone else had the issue.

I have a laptop that doesn't come with any sort of scolling ability, even on the mousepad as most have. I've been using page up and page down to zoom outside of the map, but in the star map it hasn't worked. Neither has holdng both the left and right buttons down and moving up or down on the mousepad at the same time. Does anyone else have this issue? Am I just missing something?

I really hate to rain on anyone's parade but I think it's essential to get an external mouse for eve. It's just so mouse intensive I don't think a pad can cut it. That's just my opinion, you can stick it out with the pad but I doubt this will be your only issue, try PVPing with a pad! Walmart sells USB mice for like 15-20 bucks. I hope someone can give you a better answer.

Good suggestion.

I have a wireless Bluetooth mouse (and keyboard), as well as a cheap corded optical mouse I purchased as a backup. I last used the corded backup mouse yesterday when Windows refused to recognize the wireless mouse at the Windows user selection screen (I have a guest account so I can share my Gdrive). After that, back in its box and to the back of the desk drawer it went to await the next emergency. I think I paid $7 for this Logitech vanilla corded optical mouse at a discount computer store.

Definitely get a real mouse (or two).

EDIT: Have you tried PAGEUP and PAGEDOWN to zoom?

I do plan on getting a mouse, but this is just so I can make it through the day until I get to the store to get one. Plus I don't plan on doing pvp, I just wanted to do the exploration mission but there's no way without being able to zoom.

I tried page up and page down. It works in the normal map, but not the star map. Does anyone possibly have another way to make this work?

Hmm.. I'm not in game but take a look at the key mappings part of the settings. You MAY be able to make your own custom key mapping for zoom in/zoom out. I think I recall that option in there somewhere...

I tried it, but it still didn't work. When I did a google search about it, it looked like at least one other person had the problem and he had a laptop similar to mine. I have to assume that it's something about the system I'm running.

But either way I have the mouse now, so it's no worries.
