Super Cap & Titan Baby Sitting

Do you ever feel that you could be doing something else with your character other than sitting in your Titan or super cap?

I wish I could keep it safe then go & jump in some other ship. It is sad that the only thing you can do with your character is stay in space when your logged on or get an alt which again puts the alt in the same predicament.

I would like a safe haven for my ship whilst I play the game in another ship- & no it's not a POS or an alt who is once again tied to the ship.

I guess it is all about choices.......and you pay the price but I'm not sure with the nerf that CCP gave to these classes of ships that it's worth it anymore.Cry

So you didn't think about the fact that you'd be trapping your character in a titan in all the time you had to train for it?

The Titan is the endgame. You transcended high sec. You transcended sup-caps. You transcended all other ships. You are at the peak. NOTHING ELSE IS WORTHY.

Unless you die. Then you can be found unworthy.

I have no problem with dying but I'd like to die in another ship other than the floating coffin I'm in but as I said it's all down to choices & the restrictions CCP have imposed on this class of ship.

Think of the Titan as CCP's answer to virtual sex toys, once you have one, you get fooked repeatedly.

At least, when supers were not ultra-nerfed they could be used more often. Now is paying the subscription for bridging fleets (or popping ihubs in case of SCs)

The problem is not the nerf, is that CCP can't find a true role for super caps.

There were some pretty nice ideas about 'docking rings', which would be on low sec stations and 0.0 outposts on forums. They could be rentable, not very cheap and just a small amount of them. It could improve the look of stations (to see the supers docked at it with some tunnels and so) and also put another spark into outpost and outpost parts manufacturing. But seems like those ideas were buried and I dont think CCP mentioned any plans in this way.

Have you never heard of holding toons?

I mean seriously, if you're proposing some sort of stucture where a titan can dock up, like a CSMA, I'm not sure that's a good idea. I'm not even sure allowing titans inside a POS bubble is a good idea because lo and behold, this is where most titans live out their lives 23/7.

Sure, create a CSMA. However I propose that any POS with a CSMA anchored has 1/2 shield strength, no resists, and no reinforcement. So instead of baby-sitting your super, you can baby-sit your POS instead.

No, it's the players who are afraid to use their super-caps for fear of losing them. Supers seem to turn people into care-bears, with some notable exceptions. That and the plague of NAP/NIPs all over nullsec that has brought structure grinding to a halt. More or less.

Yeah, because it totally has nothing to do with the fact that supers and titans now have rather niche roles, none of which particularly requiring that they put themselves at risk.

I'll happily take the Titan off your hands. Trade me your holding alt, I've got no trouble sitting in the largest and most powerful ship in EVE.

These threads depress me. It's like when people say "what do I do with all my billions and billions?", or "anybody else run out of skills to train?". You've got a friggin' Titan, blow stuff up.

Give a man a match and you warm him for a day.

Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life!

Did I say this- forgive me because I must have gone blind or am suffering from amnesia. The issue is not one of being bored, being scared of using the ship or any other reason. This post is about being tied into a ship type which is unique only to 2 classes of ship in Eve. Do not stand on your soap box because you still have the choice of being able to dock & change ship & tactics.

I'm not complaining about any of this and as I said it is down to choices but I wish CCP would relax a little & perhaps look at making our lives a bit more palatable.
