Good luck with your fit, tell us how it went.

I will be testing alot of stuff I have not settled on a fit yet, but getting a feel for the ship if I like it... I ran into a odd prob, I thought the recon used a Covert Ops II cloak... but it doesn't seem to get that option with the CPU, only the Cloak II gets a CPU reduction - IS this right? or something wrong with the fittings? or my skills? EFT allowed it, but Buckingham it is way over CPU.

The Pilgrim can fit the Covert cloak, the Curse can not. Note that as you're trying to fit the covert cloak you'll get a "warning, not enough cpu" thingy going on, right up to the point where you actually fit it. Test server is being the test server and as such anything could happen or be broken.

His fit will get killed by many T1 cruisers if they have a decently competent pilot, many other T1 cruisers can get away from him as he's not fast enough and doesn't shut down their cap quick enough. All he'll kill is plated stuff that's slower than him or bigger ships who can't survive his "onslaught" of dps before help arrives.

And all that time it's a balancing act with cap, he can only neut if his cap % is lower than the target's so at some point it simply stops working as he needs his cap for MWD, tackle and reps. So he starts eating boosters at which point his neuting stops working as his too high % cap. Etc etc etc. It's gonna take him a loooong time to kill any decently fit Ratting BS because of that and his mediocre dps, and it would have to be a really ****** alliance to let that happen. So again, it only really works against retards and newbies.

In short he can kill clown ratters, newbies and the very odd ship. A 250 mil ship that reliably can be killed/avoided by stuff 10 times cheaper doesn't make sense unless it's (again) intended to kill clown ratters, which is fine but as it's not stated but simply posted as a fit that won't do.

Hey twin... be nice... sheesh. [being the gorgoeous and smarter of the two - hehe].

I kind of gave up on the Pilgrim, I have tried it out, it was interesting to see how it might work with others fits and my own testing, but it's not the ship for me - I got bored with even the "good" fits on it.

Same with the Curse, I am just not into cap-warfare as a primary interest I guess... I could see doing it a bit here and there, but not as a main activity... so I have kind of put the Pilgrim into the "Exploration Cruiser" mode that Sir Livingston blogged about and calle d it good, it does do a nice job of that, better than a covert ops cruiser, and cheaper than a T3.

I am also kind of shelving T2 ships in general again, the T1s with the rebalance are just so much better per the cost [as mentioned] that it really doesn't make much since not to use them instead atm.. just putting T2 modules on them, but the hulls are good ones.

I think until the rebalance of T2/3 I am going to more or less stick to the T1 hulls for almost everything, and I can even build them outright in my home station for next to not much.
