Tengu soloing the Maze

Yep, I want info on that one.

I've seen loads of fits (which is why I ask here now) but everything sucked donkey balls. Either they were so undertanked that they had to be a troll or so overtanked that it would take forever.

What the Tengu should have:

6 Launchers, 4BCUs Medium Bay Loading Accelerator + Rigor if possible

I EFT-warriored a bit and came to this:

[Tengu, Tengu: Solo Complexing]
Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System
Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II

Dread Guristas Invulnerability Field
Pith A-Type Ballistic Deflection Field
Gist B-Type Photon Scattering Field
Gist B-Type Photon Scattering Field
Pithum A-Type Medium Shield Booster
Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner

Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile

Medium Bay Loading Accelerator II
Medium Warhead Rigor Catalyst I

Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node
Tengu Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay
Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir

83.1% EM, 87.5%Therm, 92.3%Kin, 68.8%Expl

792DPS with 3% implants

Tanks 730EM DPS (Signature 206m with Scourge, would probably change to normal Missiles initially).
Tanks 1594Kin DPS
Cap lasting for 2m 12s

Would this work? I've seen fits with Gist X Large Booster but most of those were gimped 5 Launcher fits. I chose PIthum A-type med because the cap/amount repped was better than on the Gist X

Not enough tank. You need the x-l booster because you shield nearly gets vollied so you need rep back large amount in one cycle not just continuous repping a small amount.

Here is good guide (russian :)) http://forum.eve-ru.com/index.php?showtopic=57524&st=0

you can see some fit on there that work (I know from experience)

I have never run a maze, but the tengu I used for C4 w-space anoms and sigs was a 'gimped' 5HML - XL booster version. It was not inexpensive to build, and did not have any propulsion mods (more room for tank), but (from memory) was tanking 1200+.

When four elite sleeper BSs were shooting me I needed the XL booster, and second-by-second my shields would swing from 100% to 20% and back again. No smaller booster was going to keep up with the level of hurt that was incoming. [Edit: I just hopped into that ship and I was mistaken ... she has Gist B-type large. Sorry]

So if the maze is anything like that your solo efforts may be better off accepting that it ain't gonna be quick. IDK, I'm just an interested observer.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

I assume this was in the good old days when Sleeper neuts didn't work properly, otherwise I call shenanigans on your tale, Sir

Call as you wish, but I am not prone to shenanigans ... however spelled.

I was living in C3 when the neut changes occurred and moved to C4 with full-operational sleeper neuts etc. They're eminently cope-able if you capitalise on the fact that your missile range is greater than their neut (and scram etc) range, and the fact that there is a distance from their 'home' beyond which they will not step.

I just kite them out to that 'bounce' point and pick them off. It's not quick, it's not pretty, but it is absolutely shenanigan-free do-able. Actually it's not terribly slow either, given the speed those doods move with.

I will accept humble apologies for premature shenanigan calls ... or humungous amounts of isk to compensate my dire hurt.
