With much raging and threats to release another' Heart rending excusemail' CCP Hillmar has been cattle prodded into the hamster wheel and is just now getting it upto speed, assitance provided by three...I repeat no less than three, Shocky Monkeys, as such EVE will be back on line very shortly.

Disclaimer: NO SHOCKY MONKEYS WERE HURT IN THIS EXERCISE.

P.s. though they did complain that the sight of CCP Hilmarr's arse wobble was very off putting, they have been compensated.

Disagree totally, simply because Hilmar pretty much promised excellence from here on in. Then this happens?
We were promised great communication and what we get is seriously poor communication.

1. Devs look at cause of error
2. Devs make sure they understand cause
3. Devs fix error
4. Community team stays the hell out of the Devs hair while this is happening instead of hovering by their desks or sending a mail every five seconds asking "what the hell just happened?"
5. When everything's back to normal, Devs tell Community team what happened and what they did to fix it
6. Community team makes sure they understand what they just got told
7. Community team tells the players and answers questions

A workflow other than that leads to snap statements, muddled facts and rumour mills grinding away into the wee hours of the morning. Demanding answers like you are doing just makes you look like a spoilt brat

Lets take this approach to a banking system:

1. You have a charge of 1000$ off your account
2. Bank says nothing and not even answer your calls
3. May be bank fix this
4. Bank representatives still not replying to you at all, you hit the busy or no answer when calling.
5. You see a chargeback of 1000$ to your account
6. Bank makes sure they wont repeat it
7. You receive a call from bank rep saying that its ok now.

How does that sounds buddy?
You would go ballistic until point 7 reached at all and probably would change your bank by that time. Exaggerate to absurd to understand the situation, not excuse lame approach to customer service or they will continue to degrade in it. It's already "half automated messaging" for GM replies. Want more?

Don't let them fly safe!

I rather have them work on the server to fix it and get it running again, then come here and write a post about what they think is the reason why it is still offline.

I rather have them come here and explain what happened which would be good for community. These who keep the server online and these who write programs aren't the same people. So don't bullshit us. Thanks.

Optional GM reply:

"We're looking into it."

Your car doesnt start and right off the bat you know exactly why it didnt.

You may assume or expect them to hand you any relevant info once it is known. Apart from that, stop yapping demands and play your "i have rights" card elsewhere.

If that would be free to play game then you would be right. As for subscription game i do have rights and CCP do have responsibilities. So go play your "cards" elsewhere with this approach.

Humm he has a point there...

Now I'm all for calling out CCPs mistakes and all. However a 5min early DT is something thats not even worth it. I mean honestly you seem like the type that would whine if the server went down for :shocking: 2 minutes, and expect a written apology and SP from CCP.

Edit: Also the only "right" you have as a customer is too unsubscribe.

Equating a glitch in an internet spaceship game to a failure in a banking system. Wow. You definitely have a well balanced view on life my good sir. Do you also demand answers when the 10:32 to Luton shows up at 10:34? When the pickle slice in your cheeseburger is 2.7cm in diameter instead of the regulation 3cm? Roll

From the TOS

If that game would be F2P i wouldn't even care. I pay for their service and i expect them to provide the service. If they cant do so for any reason i expect them to at very least inform their paying customers why not.

And with your approach it is no wonder their customer services departments behave like they do. You allow it to them so why not if you ready to be ass kicked and come back for more.

You're boring me now. Have fun in your orderly life where you get everything you pay for and your study is wallpapered with the contrite, sincere apologies from the many corporate bodies who dare to slightly deviate from the promised product or service you subscribe to. The rest of us will be over here enjoying ourselves. Ta ta now.

No, you really don't. It's been said a million times, and it's in the EULA. Sometimes sh!t happens. Deal with it. Or stop playing. You're already acting pretty childish just by making this post, might as well threaten to quit over something this insignificant too.

You have the "right" to pay them to play their game. If they want to switch the servers off for 2 hours, they have the right to do so. All you can do about it is pay and play or do not pay and don't play.

No communication from CCP at all...

When I read something promising that the crap has stopped from a CEO I expect him to not lie to me, as that letter is personal to each and every player.

For the server to fart 5 minutes early and get no explanation is 100% wrong in my book. A GM or DEV should have had an announcement up on the boards as soon as those boards were viewable.

We were promised great communication and what we get is seriously poor communication.

wow... im holding back my praise till I see some results but this guy is a hard core entitled crybaby
Or a troll
Youd think a guy from '07 would know how this works... maybe youre just slow...
