Given what happened to that State Raven a few years ago there's only one name I'd trust, regardless of what other people say or what some other "trusted person" history might be. If it's worth the extra cost and effort to use a 3rd party, it's worth it to have Chribba do it.

Chribba has spent a lot of time and effort making himself a reputation as someone trustworthy.

It will be a glorious day in Eve when he decides to cash that in.

I've been thinking the same thing. He must be waiting for something truly big.

I'm pretty sure he's gotten to the point where the amount he makes in a short period of time from his reputation vastly outweighs the amount he could steal in one go.

Pretty much. Unless he can steal everything from a massive corp or alliance, it's probably more worthwhile to keep the ISK roling in by being a good guy at that point.

Yup, was F900EX who decided that being a neutral 3rd party includes not being neutral at all.

.... the State Raven is a contractible asset. Why would you give it to your third party? Just put an absurdly priced contract up to the 3rd party so they can verify that you possess it, and start your thread.

No idea, we asked the same question at the time. Might have been as he didn't want to reveal the location of the ship, dunno. It probably was a set up plan and he agreed to it and the chosen "neutral 3rd party". Either way, with an actual neutral 3rd party it wouldn't have been an issue, even though technically it's not needed.

I passed on an opportunity tonight because i could not verify him like chribba, darkness, or any other major 3rd party

Only trust Chribba or Darkness all others is a roll of the dice

Not really.

I love how just because somebody (Chribba) plays EvE he HAS to be a scammer waiting to cash in at the right opportunity.

Chribba and Vaerah are trustful people, I don't think Sommer Blink does this too but if they do those are trustful people too.

Everyone else you better send it to me, I will not give it back to you, I'll probably burn all your ships/mods shooting stuff, but at least you're doing something good.

If you don't have any sort of relationship with someone, it's far better to trust someone who has a larger economic incentive to remain trustworthy than their incentive to not be trustworthy.

That takes their actual trustworthyness largely out of the picture. Which is good, because you don't have any sort of relationship with them, and thus cannot make any reasonable judgment on their actual trustworthyness.

there is one 3rd party service you can trust: Chribba
if the service is not Chribba, you are doing it wrong.

More than you know. EvE isn't the only game I play, and same goes for you Goons. I've run into you guys in other games and you're were no different there.

Grief, harass, exploit flawed game mechanics, troll, scam, steal, drive away other players and eventually bring the entire game to an end. That's the Goon definition of victory in every MMO they touch.

Goons don't play MMOs, they break them. If there are people still naivé enough to trust you guys, well then score one for you. But don't try to act all innocent to me - I know better. Blink

I think you may have missed what CCP was trying to do when they envisioned EVE. The guys who founded CCP were a bunch of PKers from UO.

By the way, Griefing, Harassment, and Exploiting are all petitionable and bannable offenses. Trolling, Scaming, and Stealing are all quite specifically endorsed by CCP in their game.

As for driving away other players, I think CCP Soundwave says it best:

It isn’t really hard, but I think there are customers that you can lose in a good way and there’s customers that you can lose in a bad way. If people come in and fundamentally don’t like EVE Online, then I think that might be a good way of losing customers. EVE isn’t for everyone. I wish it was, but the reality is that there are some people who just enjoy playing another game more. And that’s not really that bad.
