Well, I'm new, and this thread made me laugh and shake my head. There is a lot to learn about this game. It doesn't hold your hand (nobody else will either) and there are no classes or builds. You're not a warrior, rogue or mage. After doing the career agent missions I thought, hey, faction warfare sounds cool. But I'm not going to lie, I'm terrified of PvP at this point because I suck and I have a Catalyst (which has no drone bays for some reason?) and a Tristan and I know I suck. I have less than 200k skill points, but at least I know what I want to do. I'm looking at ships and what skills I need to train and in the meantime I'm doing agent missions to try to get more ISK to get better ships.

My point, which most of you have already made, is that if you can't find something to do, then it's not the game's fault.

The funny thing is, holding someone by the hand has an even worse effect, as does drowning new players in isk.
This game is one of the greatest tests of character ive seen yet :)

You have one of the best attitudes from a new player I have ever seen. You will go far Big smile

OP is what is wrong with children these days who expect *EVERYTHING* *RIGHT NOW* without any waiting whatsoever because- OH SHINY!

And, on the offchance that the OP isn't actually a troll (yeah, right), you want something that doesn't involve waiting, try this:

1. Join Red vs Blue (even as a brand new 1-day old character).
2. Join standing fleet (there are literally 1-2 fleets up 23 hours a day, 7 days a week).
3. Undock in your frigate, warp to fleet (1-2 minutes at most).
4. PVP
5. Repeat as necessary.

(Buy GTC, exchange for PLEX, sell for ISK to fund your PVP habits, and then you don't have to "wait" to make ISK to play. It's cheaper, in the long run, than missioning or mining or whatever it is most people do, and no waiting.)

And, if THAT is too much waiting for you (literally a couple minutes between fights), then this really isn't the game for you, and I'd refer you back to Counterstrike, or any other "twitch" game.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. …"

If you think the 10-15 minutes it takes to travel from point to point is too long, or you find it offensive that solo PvE content is a bit repetitive in a _multiplayer game_, it's not so much that Eve isn't for you as that MMOs and multiplayer games in general aren't for you. I recommend Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Maybe Portal 1.

I was more thinking in terms of Tetris and Pac-Man.

Somebody literally just did. Scroll up and find the post about joining RvB and getting in fights. Pvp is not afk possible.

All you're saying is that mining is boring, and we knew that.

people will say pvp....but from what I've seen that's the same afk. You spend 3 hours in a blob waiting for scouts to find another blob. or you fly around solo for hours trying to find a fight only to realize no one in eve engages unless the odds are stacked so far in their favor it's a no brainer.

You're not afk if you're the scout looking for the other blob.

Also, RvB. I thought we already covered this?

Try doing Exploration or PVP.

And try living in a Wormhole or 0.0, you will see that you are wrong OP.

Looking at an intel channel while a small Fleet on the other side of the gate assembles to move in some new POS modules, while a rival corporation is known to be online but not in their usual system. Do you even play with other people or do you just F1 through the whole thing? Because yeah, unless you want a solo experience not unlike Dark Souls EvE isn't gonna change for those stuck in the mission routine.

Several people in this thread have gone way over the line in terms of personal attacks.

Stop it, it's not nice, and will have a very bad effect on your ability to post in future if these attitudes continue.

Locked.
