How do you manage large amounts of isk?

For those players with multiple billions of (liquid) isk, how do you manage it? I'm only wondering how you handle your isk... no investments in other player schemes or assets.

I see two methods:

Keep it all in your wallet
  • A market typo could wipe you out

  • Single person corp
  • Use corp wallet divisions as "bank accounts"
  • What if you want to stay in an NPC corp?

  • Any other ideas?

Put it on the least used alt and buy a spread of shiptypes. Covers inflation once you find the right shiptypes.

  • Well, that would solve the problem with having multiple billions alright.

But I expect most players to have an alt corp that keeps their personal fortune in a non-active wallet division.

Not entirely sure that players with that amount of isk do it on their own (must be rare). I've known players to have 100's of bil in wallet and make billions in income from just running a large corp, maybe they were doing something on the side I wasn't aware of. Wish I knew too :(

It would probably be boring having all that isk anyway :D

Definitely do not keep it on your main, you got that part right. Getting scammed or running a typo is all too easy if you buy stuff a lot or in a hurry.

Keeping it in your corp wallet is also risky unless you are in a one-man corp or never give out director access to it.

I recommend creating an alt toon on your main account, train up corp management, create a one-man corp and keep it there. By keeping it in the corp wallet you can use the alt for other purposes without the risk of acciendtally spending the ISK. Call the toon something to remind you not to biomass it.

Investing in assets like ships or plex is a two way street. It could save you from ISK devaluation but it could also lose you money if the availability of the asset shot up for some reason and the price fell.

Of course making a large sum of money work for you is not so hard if you are careful and patient.

I don't have tons of isk, but i generally keep a couple billion in the main wallet division, then keep my market funds in another, station rent in another, etc. if you make a market typo and lose billiions, it's the price you pay for not paying attention.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Only time I have billions in wallet is when selling down on one stockpile and looking for something to invest in.

Alt wallet or invest is the answer.

I don't like keeping that much ISK around. It always seems to get spent, and my count of ships and skills always seems to keep going up...

But hey, I love billion+ of ships.

I love the idea of multiple billions being a big deal.

The most I've ever had liquid has been just under 50 billion isk. I tend to re-invest isk as soon as I come by it. I like to keep a 5 billion liquid fund for emergencies.

90% of it stays in my personal wallet on one of my main toons... I stick about 2 bil into the holding corps wallet to cover alliance expences and buybacks on a monthly basis, and I put about 1 bil aside for the alliance's incaseshit fund. Alliance profits go to the holding corp... Interest goes to my wallet. I try to keep a minimum of 10 bil in my wallet at any given time

Truthfully a couple billion ISK is not much to worry about.
So yes all of the above plus you start buying items.
A lot of player end up purchasing BPO's or collecting ships or both.

Maybe there is someone out there with 100 bill in there wallet who knows to each there own I guess.
