Everyone's an alt of everyone on here, obviously.

Earlier today, the Dixon Mining Guild and the Butz Manufacturing Corporation formed a coalition.

It's hard to tell if there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the Dixon-Butz Alliance.

There is no difference between such a player and a bot. Let me propose for you the following thought experiment:

Disregarding the fact that botting is against the EULA (i.e. "CCP says so"), why do you disagree with botting? If you disagree with botting, then how can you agree with bot-aspirant gameplay - human gameplay which intends to mimic a bot as much as possible?

Now you're just being silly.

Obviously, when a ATK miner spends 6 hours mining, that is 6 player hours. All that ore was rightfully gathered.
When a bot mines for 6 hours, that's 0 player hours.

So, if my math is right, one has a player spending 6 hours in Eve. The other has 0.

That's the difference, and that is why I will never criticize a bot aspirant, because they are at the keyboard, and not really a bot, playing however they want.

You're just making an excuse to gank people. Give me a break; this is Eve, you don't NEED an excuse.

I've known about the New Order for 20 out of the 23 days I've been back in Eve. On Day 2 I pretty much surmised that it was ingenious trolling beneath a veil of simply terrible role-playing.

Bot-aspirant is the act of coming back to the keyboard to click once after their cycle or asteroid is complete, or their hold is filled. They aren't at the keyboard interacting with Eve. They also don't have a fancy line of code automating those clicks. Hence the apirant part, or aspiring to be a bot.

Since they aren't using a program to control their toon, therefore they are legal per the eula to do it, and that's fine per ccp. But it is not fine per the New Order, hence why we even have the Code to begin with.

So while you are right in comparing the 6 hours versus 0, you are wrong in your reason why you wouldn't criticize a bot aspirant. A bot aspirant is not at their keyboard interacting with Eve. They are doing something else and "checking in" every few minutes. I do applaud your choice of words to try to be specific and break it down to divide by lines, but really, it isn't needed. It really is quite simple.

Alright, let's follow that.

I'm at the keyboard at all times. I respond in local and to bumps. I am, for all intents and purposes, a human miner.

Why do I have to pay for a 10M 'permit'?

And don't give me the "10m is nothing", I want to know why I have to give ISK to an organization that, because of my 100% ATK, has no impact on me whatsoever.

Because you wish to mine in highsec bump and gank free. Wait, let me rephrase... you do not HAVE to pay the indulgence. You can opt to not pay and risk bump and/or gank. But then you aren't following the Code and can be subject to punishment.

You are free to mine ore and mine ice all you like. You are also free to be ganked and bumped all WE like.

Now I'm not going to pretend 10mil isk is nothing, but it sure as hell is better than losing your ship. Especially if you plan on mining for awhile.

Exactly. We have a right to gank whoever we choose to gank.

We are willing to suffer the consequences for ganking. You play Eve your way, and we will play Eve our way.

To paraphrase Sir Charles Napier:

"Be it so. This Bot and Bot-aspirant ice mining is your custom; prepare the Mackinaw. But my nation has also a custom. When men act like mining Bots we Gank them, and confiscate all their property. My industrialists shall therefore build Cats, Vexors, and Taloses with which to Gank all concerned when the ice is AFK mined. Let us all act according to national customs."

Aw my... You are still hiding behind that "We want to purge high sec from bots and BOT-ASPIRING players from the good will of our hearts and wishes to make high sec a better place" bs?

That's bs and you know it, all you are doing is what any merc does when hired by some corporation. In this case a larger bot mining corporation that is being left alone and cashing in on the void left by destruction and disruption of a certain % of miners and every one of you that is debating on what are you doing and how you are doing this for a good cause are just tools being used by that J, or w/e his name is, and his contractors.

So please for the love of all that is sacred stop pretending and trying to hide behind some false ideals and say it out right:

1) Yes we are nothing but mercs
2) Yes we extort even the non afk players to give us Isk and they get almost nothing in return but "safety" from us
3) We couldn't care less if a player that bought the permit is afk mining or even is a bot-aspirant just that he bought it, that is all that matters

Plain and simple.

Name the corp that we're protecting and provide proof, and I'll admit it. You'll also need to find a reason for us continually moving around to find new targets, rather than staying in one place and raising prices in that area, as we would if we were serving some shady botting corp.

Even one of your "Agents" said once that you have shareholders and shareholders have to be satisfied by all means necessary and that you will do whatever the shareholders wanted you to do, from that you can conclude that you are nothing but mercs and not a single thing you are doing began as a cleanse and trying to make high sec a better place for players that stay by their keyboards.

The reason for you moving around is very simple, you are covering up the real goal why any of this started in the first place, cause if you only "liberated" certain systems it would be even more transparent than it already is and even less people would buy your "We are making high sec better" idea, another reason would be that by expanding your area you are influencing and disrupting more and more mining operations thus creating a bigger and bigger resource deficit thus making material prices higher thus making the prices of modules and other items go up which in return makes your contracting botting corp richer.

All is allowed in war for resources, it is not uncommon to go to far in something to cover up the real reason which is mostly resources, you can see it even in present day if you look pass the propaganda of major tv news broadcasters and use logic and read news from independent news reporters or talk to civilians from that area. People condemn such acts if the reason is money or just plain showing of of power and that is why they have to hide behind some other reason masses would swallow. One of the most recent happenings where you had real reason covered up was war in Lybia.

Heh... "Name the corp that we're protecting and provide proof", well hell give me the proof you are not. Big smile

Please quote the Agent who said that the New Order exists to serve shareholders at all costs.

So we move around in order to cover up an activity that is perfectly acceptable in EVE (that is, fighting over resources) with a far more controversial and attention-gaining activity. Right.

This is your first logical point, that we might be forcing up ice prices in order to make money. However, as you've probably seen, the Code that we follow is a purely altruistic document. Why shouldn't we be trying it convey this advantage to all Code-compliant miners? After all, the New Order does nothing but give to Highsec, and is nothing if not generous.

Well you are probably a pawn, my apologies if by saying pawn you got offended, or well a player that joined cause you bought in to the story of divine cleansing backed up by the hate towards bot users and the totally new cast "bot-aspirants" players. You have been told that a certain area is "cleansed" and that you should be moving on to another area where "heretics" can be found.

Just a sec, you want to tell me that you bump and extort only miners that mine in ice fields and by all means dodge and don't extort botting or "bot-aspiring" miners that have mining operations in other asteroid belts?

That code of yours is being directed only at puppet miners that you have bumped or extorted so that they don't mine as much as they used to and thus creating additional deficit of resources on markets.

I asked once as well who dictates on how much a miner is allowed to mine but didn't get the answer cause probably low ranks or new members, who are probably the majority on forums trying to defend their extortion, have no clue, is it that J person or someone else, who is it that decides how much is enough?

Page 8 and you will find your "agent" talking about how shareholders need to be pleased. I guess that was a slip and that there will be consequences for that "agent" but why should I care what happens to him when your "Order" obviously doesn't care what happens with other people.

War, fighting over resources, is an allowed activity in real world as well and yet when did you read the last time that a country declared war on another country for sole reason of war or profit? Big smile
