the first few experiences in lowsec pvp go a bit like this:

1. You are being locked.
2. You are now in an egg.
3. Go pay for a new ship.

it's not like that, if you bother to do the smallest amount of looking at the map. system with 30 kills in 24hrs, and 15 kills in the last hour. WHY would you jump in to that system? honestly?

Ugh. We have a bunch of pirates in Cynabals in our favourite system that believe ganking scrubs on a gate, the same gate, all day, all night, is the epitome of leet peeveepee

So why in hell are you still going through that gate? Especially when it is completely visible to everyone in the game that there's a small fleet in that system and a lot of pod kills? And you know that they are there? Is this how you live your life? "Well, the light is red. Oh well *cross* *HONK HONK SCREECH!*"

I keep saying this, but EVE mechanics show their age. Practically every nook and cranny of tactics that can be min-maxed is being carbon copied as soon its its found.

* Gate camps
* Log in ambushes
* Attacking players already under AI attack in missions (new AI makes this moot)
* Camping DED complexes and acceleration gates.
* Can flipping (new safeswitch makes this a lot harder)
* Tripping up players with the aggressions mechanics.
* Attacking freighters at hisec gates with a starter frig just to give it an aggression countdown, not allowing a warpoff.
* Swapping ships in an Orca (fixed)
* Ganking a miner with one toon, scooping loot with another (been tweaked)
* Remote Repair in combat with a neutral ship (fixed with new aggression mechanics)
etc etc

Can't really get emergent game play if a handful of dirty tricks works so well people don't bother doing anything else.

One place I worked at, I accidentally found that one vending machine had an "exploit". I could press for example G-4-7 (fast) and get the G3 item for the price of the G7 item, as the first time, an accidental button multi-press gave me the wrong item, at a higher price, so I investigated. I told one guy in class later what I found and in one day the machine got emptied as word spread. It got "patched" very fast.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.
