Danalee, why would anybody take you serious after all the garbage you wrote. I think you have some work to do before I allow you to regain your composure.

Today, Tora said the war between Devil's and Marmite is nearly even. I "nearly" choked laughing when I heard that. You have no respect for the War Report between pvp corps/players. Why anybody would take you serious is beyond me.

Read again Vegas...... I said Game of Tears and Marmites was kind of even. So far, Devils are ahead of us in this war...... they have the same advantage as break-a-wish. They are smaller and can move faster, hit hard and move on. While Marmites is bigger, everywhere, loses ships faster because we are everywhere, but we do more damage isks wise. So its just a different kind of merc group. As a client, you pick the tool that is needed.

Your the director of a porno, with two applicants for the leading female role...

One is a big, bloated, fat, diva who is currently filming 100 other pornos. Diva-orca is spread so thin in fact, that if she ever does choose to show up on set, lounges lazily at the entrance and gives sub-par BJ's to the teenage strays delivering coffee, not your principal actor...

The other applicant is a young, lithe, energetic minx in a catholic schoolgirl outfit who only has 10 other films on the go. She shows up on set on time, every time -- and instapop's your pincipal actor the moment you say 'Action!'.

Which would you choose?

The Devil's Warrior mercenary Alliance. Lithe, energetic and focussed mercenaries that will pop your targets as paid to do.

"First this bloated fat chick walks on set and I'm like damnnnnn...she's not getting anywhere near me. Then this little Devil's minx crept up behind me and straddled my face before I could get back to my trailer...It was hot, and she tasted like strawberries." -- Ron Jeremy

"I drink a fukton of liguids to keep my fluid levels up. So I'm waiting on set for diva-orca to show up, my baby makers filled to overflowing, and nothing.... But in walks Devil minx and POP, you'd think it was monsoon season..." -- Peter North

Thank god we aren't hired for sex or I would agree with you Twisted When hired to destroy things, I would prefer a big, bloated, fat, diva that hits anything in here path. The skinny one is nice if you want to distract people or do a surgical strike. All I am saying here is, use the one needed for the job. Sometimes it will be the big diva, sometimes it will be the skinny chick. In the end, the clients decide what they need. If they aint happy with the results, they will leave you, no more isks, alliance dies...... Pirate

Well allow me to retort...

I am not sure how you can claim '[marmite] hits anything in [our] path' (or status as a mercenary alliance at all really) when its been repeatedly shown you run and dock up the moment anything that shoots back enters local.

You could reasonably claim '[marmite] hits any unskilled random carebear in her path' I suppose, but let's be honest Tora and speak to why all real merc alliances have wardecced marmite for the last while...

...with 100 war decs active you are incapable of actively hunting all your contracted targets. Marmite as a 'mercenary' alliance is a lie, and a scam..

Now, if your current clients haven't figured this out yet, perhaps based on you and Donalee pimping a padded killboard, (ep 93 @ 1:09:20), I suppose my job remains to keep calling bullsh1t on that...

We would do that with pew because forum wars are ultimately lame, but again, you guys keep running away. ::sadpanda::

Linking your campaign against them does not prove they dock up when people show up. That just proves you've killed them more than they've killed you. They have fought aggressive engagements before and there are several videos as evidence. Picking your fights carefully is all part of the game.

Comparing trade route/hub disruption activities to a merc group that specializes in hunting targets is essentially comparing apples to oranges. Of course they will be terrible at hunting specific contract targets, that's not what they advertise they do. Between their use of Freight Club and their presence in various hubs, they still manage to hit targets who derp into hubs so they're doing what they advertise.

A better argument to belittle Marmite would take the shape of their previous "protection" rackets, which clearly amounted to nothing as every merc group who did go hunting simply took advantage of it and made them look dumb.

You are pigeonholing "mercenary" into a strictly Search and Destroy definition and while this fits into what you or I do, this does not adequately label what Marmite advertises is their primary function.

Marmite gobbles up a lot of mercenary contracts based on clients seeking specific targets hit or destroyed, and its impossible IMHO for them to honor all said contracts with 100 active wars going. Use your logic, your reason -- if you are one of those corps who hired Marmite to do a job and there are 99 other wars going on, are you really going to get serviced?

Keep in mind, Marmite is harming all mercenary corporations by how they do business, because clients who are not serviced properly may abandon merc contracts entirely because the Marmites were too busy gate camping scrubs to service them as contracted. They might see all mercenaries as scams and not engage others.

It would be great to see Marmite clearly describe and recruit as a griefing and lolz hisec war alliance, where glorious kills and asshattery is had by all. Fine. But to advertise as *mercs* and be incapable of honoring all contracts with so many wars active, befouls ALL OF US.

I am not special enough to have a director spy in Marmite to see the contract negotiations in order to know the specifics of each of their contracts.

As far as them harming our ability to get contracts, I haven't seen any changes in our contract numbers. The bit about Marmite taking 100 contracts on at a time and "harming" future contract opportunities, I see this akin to the whole "you need to honor ransoms" bushido nonsense. I still don't honor them and people still pay me.

Sure, people will be turned off by bad performance from mercs, but common sense is also picking the right tool for the job. Clients can view active wars just as easily as anyone else. Taking a sledge hammer to remove an ant problem is not advisable.

That's my point, potential customers of mercenary contracts should look at a merc alliance's Active Wars and make sure they are not overstretched and unable to truly service them. Sadly though I suspect many just look at who is the biggest, or equate biggest killboard with 'best able to serve them', and due diligence stops there. What's worse is a bad merc experience can lead them not to even try another provider who can serve them better.

What I can assure our prospective clients is Devils will pursue and honor all contracts. We will hunt your targets, because each contract matters to us. We will not forget about you once you have paid.

You spend two months trying to close Marmite and they're still functioning, albeit more cautiously. We spend two weeks at war with Wh0res in Space and they splinter into new factions. I'm doing perfectly fine at space chess.

b/c Whores wasn't already splintering before you dec'd them. And they don't have Dispo or Freight Club any longer padding their killboard. Marmite were at their peak all time high when we pushed them over.

Dude, we're actually playing the same game... just sayin.

You work hard for your ISK. We work hard at pursuing our targets.

The Devil's Warrior Alliance will not just camp trade hubs, pop a few strays that come by and claim magnificence. We will actually hunt your targets wherever they go and collect tears from whomever you wish, all for quite reasonable rates.

Quality. Trust. Confidentiality. Tears.

We wont leave you asking 'Why aren't you killing my contracted targets? Why are you just popping random carebears I don't give a **** about?'

The Devil's Warrior Alliance, mercenaries you can trust, tear collection perfected.

in local I said CCP created The War Report to avoid Special Olympic arguments in local, so respect our winning war report against Marmite (20 billion killed less than 1 bill lost) and you guys said "We're killing other people, so we're still winning..."

These guys were merciless to us when we were a new corp. Shocked

They're relentless; they decced us for three weeks! They got some pretty blingy kills too, one of which was my own. Technically, two were my own -- I had loaned a ship to a friend who had gotten killed in it. Sigh. (I didn't link them all as it would take some effort to find them, but you get the idea.)

We tried to fight these little bastards. We plotted to take them down in a blaze of glory. We got all of our guys in T1 frigs fit for ECM and tackling (we were mostly made up of new players at the time), set up all of their clones in a station in the staging area, ready to reship with dozens of ships in the hangars, and out we came! I was not ready to fly battleships yet, but I needed to be as tanky as possible. I knew if I undocked, they'd primary me, and they did. Our goal was to have them focus on me while our T1 frigs caused some havoc and a few battleships could snipe them. Things didn't go as planned; we couldn't get the composition, our former alliance engaged them right before we were ready, and I made a bad call and had my guys primary Raz. :P

It was a good fight, that could have ended very differently, which shows they're willing to engage in a good fight and take some risks. After that, we didn't much want to deal with them any longer, so we decided to hire our own mercs and evade them as much as we could. This was helpful, but it didn't prevent them from hunting us and engaging us when it suited them. I can say with certainty they are very smart about the way they go about their business. Our first fleet engagement Raz sat outside his home station letting us pummel him; only later did I realize he was assessing our DPS! And they don't just camp market hubs; they'll locate you, figure out what you're doing, and patiently wait to ambush you. We learned a lot from that war, and while it was difficult, it made us stronger in some ways.

I wouldn't call these guys friends, but I do believe mercs serve an important role in Eve, and having been on the receiving end of their contract...I know what they're capable of. Aside from one incident at the end, I felt they were very professional to us, willing to communicate constructively, and honestly, fun to play with in some ways.

TL;DR: I only encountered their main corp so I can't really comment on their alliance, but when it comes to Raz and Tearz, run away and never log in again! Pirate

Put another way, I endorse this product and/or service. (This entire post was meant as an endorsement in a light-hearted manner.)
