So first there was EvE, then was Cap ship nerfs, then Apocrypha, then the rest of eve.

For those of you that don't know:

Apocrypha was the EvE Online Expansion that added Tech 3 Ships, The SkillQueue, and W-Space. Hands down the largest content addition to the Eve universe, Adding 2,500 W-Space systems to the list of the already impressive .. well.. system list.

So what else is there to add? Eve needs a large content addition. Jove is always an option, but perhaps we aren't ready for the Jove yet. The rest of ship rebalancing is still coming along great, but that should kinda happen weather or not we get a large content addition.

So here, we will discuss what large content addition eve can use, and needs. (Although CCP probably already has a decent idea of what it will be, We all hope).

My rendition:

EvE Online -Insert Name Here-

ArrowNew POS SystemAttention
ArrowMore Interactive Outpost System( More outposts, that actually mean something )
ArrowNew Resource to be gathered( Pref in Null sec (Risk))
ArrowGive Low-Sec something to be proud of, Maybe a new resource for them too?
Arrow(After they rebalance capitals) T2 Capitals? maybe? that are made with the new resources that can be gathered, and assembled at the new POS, that can provide specified bonuses and fill Niches. (If t2 capitals are too much, then give us More T2 BC/BS Options. SuperHeavyAss Assult Battleships

AttentionBy new POS system, i mean having a player owned station, smaller than an outpost, Larger than the current POS, that can have a docking bay if the POS owners seem fit, And defenses, similar to the current pos. While keeping the Old pos system for a cheaper alternative to the new one. I hope that made sense :D

You need more than new ships and new resources to qualify as new Apocrypha.
T3s weren't just new cruisers, they brough completely new thing (subs). Not just there were new resources, but there was new kind of space with new rules and mech to contain them. And that skill queue change was something I couldn't imagine that it didn't exist in the past when I joined.

I don't know what will be in the new Apocrypha.
Though I keep hearing that CCP said that they aren't going to create new expansions similar to that one. Can someone provide some links? Would be nice to know where this stuff comes from, what amounts to "expansion like Apocrypha" and what was the reasoning given?

What I recall at the time of apocrypha these forums were mostly full of people whining about stupid stuff and saying eve is dying

For those with simple minds

CCP is secretly developing something big. It is DUST 514, WIS and other stuff in Research and Development.

CCP is in the design phase... All good companies are secretive about the design phase. It keeps them in control of the situation.

Bad companies overhype, die in rumors, release vapor-ware and leak content prematurely, which leads to speculation and slow sales.

This post sums up why the 'best' work with DCM inc.

WARP DRIVE makes eve boring

really - add warping align time 300% on gun aggression and eve becomes great again

Apocrypha was an insane expansion. It was just so on-the-money. I actually think all the new planets and PI stuff bought something new and interesting to the game, despite it being a bit less awesome.

Incarna technically should have been a similar size expansion but it just went so off the rails that not only did CCP pull back from WiS but from diving into any large content spearheads at all.

For the most part I am glad. We've had some excellent balancing work along with tr3 BCs, new destroyers, some interesting new modules, TiDi, lots of things that together make EVE a more playable game.

However, the shift of resources is clearly in the Dust camp at present and like it or not we better all hope it comes off because revenue from it will dictate in some way the future of EVE.

With WiS and even TeamAvatar firmly in the bin I would hope focus turns towards POSs. They are the mainstay of life for many pioneering corporations. In fact they should have been more functional from the off so that Outposts did not proliferate into a boring sea of stations.

New POS models would be nice, ones that are of a more sensible scale to replace the lol-tiny ship hangars. Also some kind of better docking system to prevent the sea of shared ships waiting to get confused, AWOXed or lost. Ability to switch out T3 subs.

More specialisation would be nice. Like a super cap dock system could be cool or an improved system for industrialists. Whatever they come up with it will be useful to most players too hi, low and null bears alike.

TL; DR: POSs

What about ponies?

Sorry, could not help it. I was expecting someone to have asked already.

Seriously (internet spaceships - serious business you know) it's going to be hard to beat Apocrypha.

I would hope for something on the level of a world-changing event, preferably hooked into some live events (the only reason why I stick around is for these live events). Maybe well see Jita get blown up. or something significant. I hope everybody will be inconvenienced too.

My list for another Apocrypha and beyond would be

  • POS management revamp, better role management, the long awaited Modular POS system that's been discussed for years in F&I
  • Corp management revamp
  • More incursions, bring on the rest of the pirate factions but keep their current damage types and resists, (Incursions Jnr) make it so they contend for system control in faction warfare.
  • Tech/teir 3 frigates or destroyers, but they need to be balanced.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

At least some T3 modules that can be fitted to T2 ships, but I am noticing that the backstory for some new modules implies that sleeper technology is behind them, thus we are in fact getting T3 technology "for free".

T3 small rigs that can fit even T1 ships would cause a major rift in the calculator warfare aspects of ship fitting.

If he's clever he'll be the one doing the scamming, he's already got a huge advantage over the majority by knowing about it.

Personally I can't wait to see the first corp theft or scam pulled off by a Dust player, especially one that isn't also an Eve player.

PoS update has been needed for ages but it HAS to be done along with a manufacturing/science/mining update at the same time.

and all those 4 things have to be done at the same time Corp/alliances get an overhaul, at least when it comes to roles, SoV space management, and player/player player/corp corp/corp contracts.

so its not really about new content, but about getting old content right, in a process similar to what the current rebalance is doing.

i could go on and on for hours about the things that need to be changed... BPOs/BPCs stopping being items, updates on research process, ownership of research projects/manufacturing jobs on corps, corp ownership of ships and modules, to allow real compartmentalization inside corporations/alliances. in/out of corp access to PLAYER owned manufacturing/research facilities. complete removal of NPC manufacturing and research. eve stock market, so we can trow money to the pigs hoping they will turn in to responsible business men and will not take our money and run. ship/module dispensers to allow restocking of ships used on whatever doctrine/fleet comp/role pilots have to fill. better tracking of corp members actions, to better reward attendance, pvp/industry activity, etc.

not to mention updates to SOv management. people, specially null people, need to understand that renters are bad for alliances... But tax paying, contract fulfilling, infrastructure building citizens, not so much.

this also goes with the idea of updating contracts, not only player/player but player/corp and corp/corp etc.

honestly, the point is the pew pew side of eve, needs to understand that if we get new toys to play with, you get more ships to shoot with, and to shoot at. its time for an industry based eve expansion, just as 50% of new players come to eve looking for peevepee, the other 50% come looking for market play and to mine them roids, because they don't feel pain the way we do.

has anyone seen x rebirth?

actual assembly lines. in space. Shocked

ccp gives me that and i will make you ships, for free. because **** it, its an actual assembly line in space, with all the parts simulated. get it? you nerdgasmed the keyboard. want to read it again? here it goes. ASSEMBLY LINES, IN SPACE. please ccp, im so good at this industry crap i don't even use spreadsheets anymore... give us something new, intricate, not overly complicated. intricate is good. food for brain. and... assembly lines, in space.

this is a huge change we never actually saw it in full - yet.
