You can purchase ready-to-use pilots for PLEXes / ISK. Alt with Thanatos => assigned fighters => instant +1250 dps on main. Or booster alt pilots. If it's not "pay to win" when there is no "pay to win" scheme at all.

Those ready-made pilots however arent seeded by CCP, they are put up for sale by players, and usually have a history/reputation attached, it took time for that player to skill it up.

its mroe or less your buddy giving you his acount, except buying toons isnt against the EULA.

So where is the difference if the bunch of bits you call pilot is created by CCP or by players ? It stays a bunch of bits. And bringing such pilot to a state of 'ready to be sold' is easy when you have a main/pvp-char who doesn't need to advance in skills anymore. Just do some AFK-learning .. and everything is ok .. ISK without risk ! But hey .. don't you ever forget to harrass those evil, game-corrupting afk-miners .. but at least you can shoot them .. without consequences ..

Eve .. game of consequences .. best joke ever

true .. if Eve was 'open pvp' then I would be able to use my bombs in highsec. Just another fault in design.

This should happen when you log into EVE.

And here I though that EVE is Settlers Online In Space.

Then again, if people don't understand that one must be ready to protect himself in the world where everyone and their mum carry a rack of big guns, checkbox won't be of any help. Applying kind of common sense you would apply IRL, on the other hand...

Think about it, what is the most easy to read kind text in the world? EULAs. People tend to read them with speed of 10 pages per second in avearge, accordingly to statistics.

I'm sure you have as much problems with my NPC character as I have with your English writing, does this brings something useful to the discussion? -it doesn't
Does this makes your character or mine better than the other one? -it doesn't.

Futile and stupid, but it's just my alts NPC non English native opinion.

Until I can use my bombs like you, my dic/hic bbles, anchor bbles, bring and cyno jump caps/supers I fully agree with you, Eve is not and will never be an open non-consensual pvp game.

Seems to hard to understand for some kids.

omg where are the zealots to purge the game of these afk heathens?!

You can kidnap them and sell them into prostitution:)

No, really, seriously. My first night logged off I woke up in the brothel with a 6 hour debuff. Had to pay silver to buy my freedom. After that I logged off in the Emei school. Harder to get kidnapped there, but not impossible. You have to find out of the way towns and hamlets to log off in. They also have the best untapped resources. Sound familiar???

Now- off to find more Jet Li coins....

The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse [lady of commercial virtue]. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.- James Nicoll

You could make em type it out. And be unable to copy paste.

Doesn't matter though, since CONCORD is there to protect you <3

If the point here is to make newbies aware of the pvp centric focus of Eve, I like the old idea of teleporting noobs to a random 0.0 system and giving them a frigate and the route home. Should be the last mission in the tutorial.

I am willing to bet, just reading your post and not the thread, that people would be against this in Eve.

Why?

  • Because people are against some kind of combat sim in game to test fits. Meaning that their KB relies on mistakes and lack of knowledge of their kills, not their own skills.
  • People who have engaged in "aggro fu" over the years cried an ocean of tears over the so-called 'Carebear button". Meaning that that uber leet PVP skills were really based more on how to game the mechanics of aggro than actually being uber leet PVPers.
  • In the past, where there have been proposals for "Armageddon days" I have seen people make the case that this day should not be well-advertised for all of the players. Yes, they want Joe Casual to get ganked when every system is 0.0 so they can get tears, even if said tears would not be permanent and Joe Casual would eventually find out, in mere minutes or up to the next day, what was really going on. It's kind of creepy that even tears based on misinformation matter so much. "Meta tears" .

So if the uber leet PVPers who scream "this is a sandbox" every chance they get, as if it was some kind of badge of honor, could have their way, there would not even be a lowsec popup warning let alone a "if you log in, it's PVP time" checkbox.

God forbid we have people actually informed that someone might want to blow up their ship. That could cost some of these PVP princesses a few kill mails and that would be the end of the world.

You can put all the labels you want on something, there will ALWAYS be the people who dont look at it and cry. Look at all the everyday products you use, I guarantee you will find warning labels on all of them that no one reads.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?
