Younguns these days... that's the new intro video! The original one actually explained the backstory and I much preferred it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjbwsyhJjUs

As for the OP's questions: EVE was released as The Second Genesis, it was a very different game as far as I know. Incidentally the music you can hear in the original login finally got a revival after 9 years of disuse: it plays in Gallente hisec sometimes (it's on all the time in Dodixie).

back in the day .... i always wanted to find a way of getting the original login screen (the rotating eve logo ) as my desktop wallpaper ... hay CCP can you make me one ?
