As we build New Eden, let us reflect on the deep thoughts in this meaningful 4.5-minute commentary.

It's a shame there isn't some content here as this is a deep subject and well worth a lot of debate.

Getting more women into EVE would, IMO, improve the game a lot. I think there are a huge number of fascinating social roles (spy, diplomat, leader, thief etc) which could be advertised more actively and I think would help to attract more women.

Less Pew Pew, more social intrigue.

Since when did increasing the number of women improve anything (except for in an orgy!)

Yes but that would probably lead to topless shots for director status for a few months as an infiltration tactic, mass controversy as one troll, collects them for a while, probably mittens or something i dunno, then posts it and harvests the tears like never before, lolsuits and the like, CCP collectively pissing their pants at the threat of being sued to death ect

in short, it would be amazing and it has to happen

too bad the harshness of EVE already rejects almost all new players anyway, i propose girl friendly pink spaceships, special bonuses and more clothes

inb4 people take this seriously
inb4 they dont

The social sciences.

Lol.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

my roommate tells me that in EVE's past, picking female characters would net inferior attributes than male characters.

I'm not sure the 'female character' thing should be pushed further, or we might end up with EVE pimping. or go full-monty and have proper lapdancing (and not just some repeated "crouching" emote or whatev).

tl;dr SO WHAT IF every character in any game where I got to choose the gender, I pick Female Evil puahahhaa

Your roommate is either lying, or just flat out wrong.

Yes please, more women in EVE. This place is about like a junior high boys phys ed class locker room. Could be a greater game if it had more than one dimension-- i.e. the testosterone male dimension.

A huge problem with getting more of us ladies interested in EVE, is that a lot of you gentlemen don't act like gentlemen. Casual sexism is really off-putting at times. I know, HTFU, but really..even in jest, it gets old, fast.

Along with that, there are a LOT of creepy people in EVE. Well, not just EVE, but gaming in general. Getting e-stalked by a desperate guy is really an unpleasant experience.

Still, for the most part, the manly members of EVE ARE pretty decent. It's the few who make it look bad. Same for the ladies..you don't hear about the awesome FCs and cool female CEOs, but we hear all about "I'll show you my boobs for a director spot!"

EVE has a pretty substantial boys club, i dont think the casual sexism will be going anywhere soon

As for the creepy stalker people, petitions and wardecs exist for a reason, although given the sheer amount of people of course there will be creepers, just gotta deal with them as they come

to be fair i assumed that EVE was like 99% guys playing as girls, the "No Girls on the Internet" thing
