Hello MD peps,

I invested 2000 shares into James 315 - New Order of Highsec.
Due to reasons I wish never appeared, I have to sell them.

Price is the same = 1 mil per share.
It will be the same thing like buying from James 315 only that you will help me out.
James 315 supports this and for each transfer, no matter from whom, he will credit you as any other sherholder.

Shares left : 1950

Thank you

PS: I would very much appreciate to keep this thread clear from all the replies which are a default and plague the MD subforum.

If James 315 supports this, I'm sure he wouldn't mind putting a word in this thread about it.

I informed him. It's up to him if he posts here or not.
Until such a time :

Lux--

Certainly. Although the New Order does not repurchase the shares it sells, investors in need of cash can use the same method employed by real-life traders: Selling some or all of their shares to a willing buyer. If you find someone interesting in purchasing your shares, I can facilitate the transaction by transferring ownership of the shares to the buyer, after both you and the buyer have confirmed the transaction.

Posting in confirmation. When buyer and seller both confirm the transaction, I'll transfer shares from Lux to the buyer (in the next shareholder update). Smile

Your first mistake was thinking that your share purchase was an investment. It was a donation.

James is a great guy, but you won't get your money back from him.

Of course it is a donation, but since I need money back, I see no problem in converting that donation to others.
Hence I made it clear from the beginning.

Since it is the same thing; either donating to James or by converting through me.. the only difference will be for me, as this will help me.

Thank you

Except that it's not.

Say I have 50m to donate, James's current wallet is X, and your current wallet is Y.
I give you the ISK, James's wallet is still X, while yours is Y+50.
I give James the ISK, James's wallet is X+50, while yours is still Y.

So buying shares from you does not, in any way, help James.

You're just asking for donations to help you recover from donating more than you could actually afford. And not providing any real entertainment value in the process.

Well since they are not called donators... but investors.. those that buy the shares from James (not donating to James..)
I guess I can as well call this as I want.

But never the less, thank you for your technical information. Irrelevant, considering the conjuncture , but still valuable.

Find/Replace "Donate" with "Invest" and the point stands unchanged.

You claimed that there's no difference between giving ISK to James and giving it to you. No need to get mad that I pointed out that money doesn't work that way.

That's like saying donating to charities for starving kids in africa is an investment cause you get to see pictures of them not being starving any more.

A personal utilitarian view on charity puts it exactly that way. Charity is purchasing a sense of well being for yourself.
