Freighters in Ice Belts ?

Hi All,

So I'm making some ice blocks for POS fuel and I've noticed that some of the local Germans now have freighters in the ice belt with their Macks and Orcas.

Now as far as I knew you couldn't transfer cargo to/from a freighter in space - so does anyone have any idea what the use would be ?

Did I miss something in the patch notes ?
I've done some really stupid shit in this game.

  • Freighters and jump freighters have been upgraded with a jettison tube and can freely jettison, scoop and move items between containers. They are still not able to load or scoop assembled containers into their cargo hold, except freight containers.

Yes, the freighter pilot needs to move goods from the orca to freighter.

The stuff doesn't get passed from the Orca to the Freighter, the Freighter uses the Orca's corp hangar and takes the stuff from there, the Orca pilot just keeps moving stuff from cargo + ore hold to the Corp Hangars for the freighter pilot to take.

Thanks, I know how the transfer works, may have explained my self wrong. There is nothing in the blog post that mentions the ability to do just that ; pick up ore from orca using a freighter.

You may also want to look into freighter containers.

Lots to be done with them that can help mining fleets.

It's the other half of the story that is not yet being talked about.
