Is there anything special about missions that are categorized as "event-distribution" or "event-security"?
If there are "event-mining" or other variations, I have not hit one yet.

They offer low to medium ISK rewards and no LP. They seem to be a chain of missions that run you around systems taking 3-6 jumps [maybe shorter or longer as the chain progresses but I have not hit an end yet or a repeated mission].

Since I am not gaining any LP from the individual missions and modest ISK at best, they don't seem worth running unless you want a tour of the region Big smile

Edit:
I just hit the end of the chain. Usually when you complete a mission in the chain, the agent points you to another agent in that station who will have an "event-distribution" mission but not this time. The next agent in the chain said "Sorry, I have no jobs available for you". It seemed anti-climatic when it just fizzled out. Given the low reward [which is quite appropriate for the low risk distribution type missions] and time spent jumping around the systems, I doubt I'll run another chain if I encounter one.

Also, all the missions seem to be distribution missions. Even the ones labeled "event-security" was just hauling something to another station but with a "military" flavor to the mission description.

I tried Google instead of the forum search and found the following in Evelopedia:

"Event Agents are mysterious. They can be found anywhere at anytime. There is no known complete database of them but they have been spotted at Planets, Moons, Asteroid Belts, Jump Gates, inside and outside Stations, inside DED Deadspace Complexes and at Celestial Beacons. Some can only be located by scanning while others only appear to players during certain missions.

Most Event Agents offer missions that can only be completed once by players that have the required standings. Event Agents don't give Loyalty Points but most of them will give the player both Corporation and Faction Standing increase as well as some interesting and unique rewards.

However, there are some Event Agents that offer repeatable missions which will give a Faction Standing increase the first time completed and then only Corporation Standing increase each time after that. There's also a few of these Event Agents with a repeatable mission that will only give Corporation Standing increase and no Faction Standing increase whatsoever.

As was stated before, Event Agents are mysterious.

Many online Agent-Finder services have a listing for most of the Event Agents. At last count there were over 700 different Event Agents currently employed by the various Factions in the Eve Universe, including the Rat (NPC Pirate) Factions. Over the years, some of these Event Agents have been classified into groups for ease of recognition by players.

Tutorial Agents (Currently not active)

These Agents offer a one time 2-part mission with Corporation and Faction Standing increase.

Career Agents

These Agents offer a one time 10-part mission with Corporation and Faction Standing increase.

Circle Agents

These Agents offer a repeatable mission with Corporation and one time Faction Standing increase.

Data Centers

These Agents offer a one time mission with Corporation and Faction Standing increase.

COSMOS Agents

Most of these Agents offer a one time 2 or more parts mission with Corporation and Faction (Repeatable missions excluded) Standing increase.

Epic mission arcs

These Agents offer a series of missions (Repeatable once every 3 months) with Corporation and Faction Standing increase.

There are still a lot of Event Agents that haven't been classified into groups. In the future, players will surely add more Event Agents into the current groups as well as create more group classifications. Who knows, maybe something like Special Agents?"

If I had done the Goggle search first, I would not have wasted my time and yours posting this question. Ahh well, off to another mission before bed time.

Event agents can give a good corporation standing increase. That is important because of the jump clones. As you might or might not already know, you can install a jump clone at an NPC station if that station has a medical bay and if you have more than 8.0 standing with that corporation. Event agents were a good way for grinding standings. "Were", because now pretty much everyone use one of the "Jump clone creation" services, like Estel Arador Corp Services.
