I received templar one over the christmas holiday and I got to a chapter that showed that Empress Jamyl has some strained relations with her father.

Since the backstory of EVE is a chaotic web of people and personas, can someone flesh out what's the deal for me?

Thanks, and happy holidays

Her father was the Admiral in charge at Vak' Atioth. So that's part of the contention there for one. The second is that if you look at the Empire, like most empires in history, it was normally male run. So, as a female and an only child since her father only managed one offspring. It left House Sarum in a bit of a bind for one. Also her father had aspired at one point to become Emperor but never managed to obtain it. I wouldn't be surprised if he had plans that were ruined by his illness and eventual death.

Now, the part at which she became a capsuleer because she wasn't one at first. Was set in motion by Falek Grange in order to possibly take control of the Empire from the shadows. So, get the implants medically placed before the trial, hook her in so when she dies her consciousness will get transmitted to a clone at a place of choosing. Her death was probably intended in the first place just to get her to a clone.

From there she could have been brought back to the Empire and end up being seen as a Divine Entity, because everyone knew she had died and was NOT a capsuleer before the trial. It would have set the stage up beautifully for her to gain ruler ship and Falek Grange would have stayed in the shadows pulling strings. However, his plans fell through from the One interfering with her download, plus Chamberlain Karsoth hiring the Blood Raiders to attack and kill Falek Grange and also wiping out anyone that was in anyway connected to Falek Grange or his plans.
