I see. I am sorry about that. Not needing to grind ISK just to pay for subs is a luxury but if you somehow would manage to bring in an extra $15 each month you could enjoy it too. It will enable you to put more focus on activities that burn ISK instead - you know the fun stuff. Anyhow, I hope you will recover from your poverty and will prosper in life.

*shrug* i'm a miner, i don't have much to spend my isk on anyway so it may as well go on plex and save me some money.

i don't really find the combat in this game more "fun" than the mining. they're both "lock target, press f1 and wait". the difference is i don't lose isk by mining, or have to constantly go and change ships/fittings etc.

I think I understand you better now. I wouldn't pay a sub either just to mine in EVE. But you should get out more. I recommend lowsec for starters. It is fun to see ships explode, even when it is your own, and if all you're doing is lock target and press F1 it will mostly be your own ship that explodes.

I pay my sub with cash when I'm taking a break from the game, but when I'm actually playing it I use PLEX. It only takes 2 hours of ratting per account, or 12 freighter ganks.

And here I thought you all lived from tech and recruitment scams. Ratting in a super? I know some claim to get 50M ticks in 4B vindicators but ≈90M ticks has to be some kind of record. And losing a ship will set you back 30 hours or so. Multiboxing perhaps but then you probably lose ships too. All the power to you if you can sustain such income.

I unsubbed 2 accounts due to the last patch.

Just waiting for the timer to run out.

Sometimes the only way you can make a company see that the direction they are going is by withdrawing financial support. Complaining on the boards is just not enough. Thankfully my characters wont be deleted so once ccp realizes how foolish they have become to target such a niche market then I will return.

stuff

Which group would you prefer, as the owner of this virtual world? Which ones would you want to attract, when you've been successful for 10 years without a huge influx of the Beta types? What if CCP doesn't need your sub money?

Consider this next time you threaten to unsub.

Glad to see human kind may be sharply divided in two classes.

Also, alpha personalities are .rare, have luck funding a MMO with those 5k players.

Exactly, I might even go out on a limb and say most alpha's alts count as beta players. Nerf their specialty and watch them disappear. Not everyone in this game aspires to be Chribba, 90% of Eve is these 'beta' toons.

Last time I saw Eve sub figures, they were at 400k (Crucible I think). If you take even 5% of this (and thats assuming 1 man = 2 toons) that would still be 20,000 web designers, bloggers and programmers making APIs. Sure, Eve has a healthy content creating fanbase, but not THAT healthy.

i've seen ships explode, i spent some time in 0.0. combat in this game is just as dull as mining, except mining has less drawbacks. i don't play mmos to be ~elite pvp~, even if i did this game wouldn't be my pick. i prefer something more interactive than f1 and wait to see who pops first. because that's really all it comes down to.

ever watched an eve pvp video? no, me neither, they're just too damn boring to watch. congrats i can sit staring at a load of pink squares and watch your modules cycle... there's nothing to even watch.

You have no idea if people are unsubbing 'because of Retribution'.

Just had 3 people unsub at my corp just because of new AI and TD madness. People didn't feel any fun doing pve stuff anymore

The reason of unsubbing is very clear to me.

As for myself, I have 2 month paid on my accounts, then I'll think about leaving or not,

You know. With you're attitude to the game you would have unsubbed anyway and it is not because of any expansion - you just use it as an excuse for yourself. Same for your corp mates. People unsub all the time because they don't have it in them to explore the fun part of EVE.

Exactly, pve/mining/pvp is just all the same, F1 and see stuff happends.

Thats the attitude I was talking about.

I watched this one yesterday. Awesome flying and there are plenty more videos that are really good to watch. Expect to see Curses on my lossboard soon.

bad music, bad camera effects, and still nothing to see other than boxes on his screen and modules cycling.
there's nothing interesting about that video in the slightest that makes me want to watch it or will give any enjoyment from doing so. he hits f1, changes range a few times, and nothing else happens. there's no sense of excitement anywhere.

15 mins in, that raven kill, prime example of my point. literally nothing happens for the entire fight.

edit: he even has to write, in text, what's going on because it's that bad to watch. honestly, did you really watch this? because it's dreadful.

If you couldn't see anything interesting in that video (and btw, you didn't have time to watch it before you replied) then you have a problem. Maybe you have been staring at rocks for too long? As I said before you really need to get out more.

you're right, i didn't have time to watch it all, but i did just endure that whole raven "fight". as i pointed out, it's that bad he has to write, in text, what is happening because it's that bad to watch.

nothing interesting does happen.

The vid is boring as hell.
Maybe it is you who have a problem? Because I can't see anything interesting in it.

Whatever.
