It looks as though the verdicts are in from the Capsuleer community about DUST. DUST and it community is worthless unless those that play EVE deem them otherwise.

Looks like our fate is now in your hand’s. What will you do with it?

Where do you get "worthless" from?

Nah, I get it. I started my own campaign out initially by rallying people up against the previous CSM. Twisted It's a ridiculously common (and mildly effective) tactic, whether the previous CSM's deserve it or not.

Just be careful not to lay it on too thick, too fast, Zion. EVE players are smart, they'll see through it quick and once the initial spark wears off you'd still have to stand for what you know about EVE even if your personal motivation for running is to protect the Dust community.

Good to see Zion getting a little discussion rolling. It's a great corp and I've had some fantastic discourse with their members on rather major details throughout the beta. While it'll take a while to get the same rep out in the larger universe, I'm confident that will change soon enough.

However, while I'm not sure if Shad made any attempt at CSM, I don't think anyone was particularly serious about it. We have a lot of growth to do and furthermore a lot of relationships to build since we've been dragged over. On the Dust-side, things have been ramping up quite a bit.

But for the near future, to address some of the views, I think that while there is no need to lose and CSM Seat to a Dust player, I am rather in favor of opening at the very least 1 if not more preferably 2 seats to Dust Bunnies even as early as the summer to provide some well-needed feedback from the Dust community.

However, and these are rather big 'howevers':

- This should not be done in the traditional sense; No Dust player should be flying out Iceland this year. There is no sense in it as even if you have been a player of both since the beginning, there is little that has been consolidated between the two games in terms of gameplay, metagame, and even the communities themselves. However, I don't think this stasis will last long and to bring 1 or preferably 2-3 (for the same obvious reasons we don't have 1 or 2 CSM members) would be a great advantage to both CCP and the CSM as they can provide a way of bouncing ideas off of rather active and involved players while at the same providing a sense representation for Dust Bunnies in New Eden.

- I might even recommend a larger sub-"congress" that can be involved in a post-CSM meeting. At least for the summer. We could make that elected or simply volunteer/draft although I think election would be wiser and would yield more dedicated members. Or hell, you could make it a corp deathmatch. We certainly do love to kill each other.

- Keep in mind that this game is doubling New Eden's population and it's hard to get around that. Even in a worst case scenario, it remains a competent, F2P shooter that is constantly growing.

The Key here is while I never want to jeopardize a capsuleer who is the current resident, pays his/her subscription, and has essentially created this game from the ground up, to continue to be a dynamic game we need to constantly test ourselves and challenge our abilities to adapt. We set a vision a long time ago for the game and I don't really think anyone has lost sight of that here.

The only way we're going to unite these games is by communication and good community, top to bottom, and I believe that certainly includes the CSM just as it includes the kid mining in his Bantam and selling his first load of Trit.

[Speech finished} ^^

Mmm, and it looks like I must have missed a small chunks of the posts, I apologize for some of the ideas restated. Not trying to harp along.
