I would just like to say thank you to CCP, the devs, GMs, ISDs, CSM. Your hard work and dedication to our playground is very much appreciated by this pilot.

I've been gaming since Pong. Nothing even comes close to the energy, the thrill, the pure adreniline that this game can be. I don't know if I'll ever turn on my Xbox again. I already know I don't miss it.

So I just wanted to say thanks.Big smile

Your attitude will change when you spend endless hours and ISK into ships, implants and equipment only to get it blown away in mere minutes. This game is garbage. Period. The designers in this game will NEVER be successful. At most it will be a niche market. Nothing more. If you think people are gonna flock to EVE then you are sorely mistaken. If you are from a socialist EU country with no life and no job then this game is right up your alley!

Well, I want to thank you, MetaMorpheus Jones, for starting this post.

I have been so busy trying to raise my Faction standings lately that I forgot to shout out my thanks.

I would like to thank my parents, my kids, CCP & all and my wife for allowing me to thank CCP on Christmas EVE.

I wish CCP good fortune and hope to be part of your journey forever.

I created and posted a quick EVE Online homage video here:

I have to say Eve online is the first MMO I try. It happened 2 years ago, And just could not stop playing it. I try others but always look for gates or planets to warp to. I have to say CCP isn't perfect but they damn well try to be. The depth that is in this game never ceases to amaze me. How one act can effect every single person that plays. I have to say for Vikings these guys don't have enough swords in this game tho.

Yeesh... I think somebody didn't come to the party with the proper costume! Roll

I am a newb and I can't understand some player attitudes here. Of course, I am 48, so maybe patience and a large dose of reality is required Grasshopper?

+1

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

This game is a damn addiction. Two years, two accounts, and I can't imagine ever giving it up. I've wanted to play it since the beta, but circumstances only recently permitted it.

It's so damn deep, and with actual economics. And I can definitely into ruthless capitalism.
I mean, I'm currently taking advantage of crimewatch, and making money by scooping frozen corpses and selling them on contract.

I am just over a month in - and while I can't say I have experienced a whole lot yet, I was drawn by the same things. To me, the thought that I might be a few moments from getting my ship shot out from under me gets me fired up. Most games are so passive or scripted in their responses to your input. I love that every time you undock, there is always a bit of uncertainty as to whether you are going to come back in a clone vat or not.
I actually believe they need to change the way the Local channel works- it gives away FAR too much information that IMO is very unlikely to be available in the manner and timeframe we have in EVE. For example, the guy I who toasted me my first trip into LowSec (it was my fault for overstaying my welcome) is now permanently on my "contacts" list. Any time he logs on, I know it. Any time he is in the same system with me, I know it. That's TMI in my book, even as a newbie. I know it's meant to foster good and easy communication in EVE, but it is way overpowered.

Wooops, end of mini-rant. Still, despite the warts, I love what EVE is all about.

It really is a good game. :)

Im running it on a 30 inch screen in 2560x1600 resolution ever since I got my new computer a few days back. Going from running Eve on a laptop to this.... I see what Ive been missing. =)

Actually this is vitally useful information. You'll find out soon enough.
