For Drones..... go for T3.... you will NOT be sorry.

LOL. There are no T3 drones and T3 ships usually cannot have drones (except proteus and legion with the right drone subsystem).

As a new player, the first question one should awnser is :

What do i want to do in EvE?

If you can't figure that out, there is no point suggesting a boat for you to fly.

With that being said, i am gonna give you my two cent for PvP, since this is what i am doing almost exclusivly on eve.

> Start with either an interceptor and be a tackler in Fleet pvp or go for a Cov ops bomber fighter if you want do some pain in solo pvp or be a scout in fleet pvp. These are very good ships, they are fun to fly and you will always have use of them. They can be trained for well within a month of time.

> Cruiser are nice to deal some extra damage, and you can still for for an heavy interdictor, but in all honesty i don't recommend that you dedicate too much training in them.

> Battlecruiser. This is a ship class you can train for eyes closed. It's possibly the ship you will use often in fleet pvp, and you can still use them well for solo pvp if you know what you are doing (Choosing the right modules to increase your tanking, ECM, ECCM, and knowing which targets you should take on or not). My personal choices as a gallente pilot are the Myrmidon that i either use for bait in fleet pvp or solo pvp, or a Brutix to deal insane dps in fleet PvP strictly. Battlecruisers are probably the safest ship class to invest SP in.

> Finally Battleships. Only to be used in a fleet. You could use them for solo, but honestly... You will bring too much attention because of your expensive modules, and you can't even scratch anything smaller than a BC. If Battleships are your deal, don't expect to use them outside of incursions, Level'4s and fleet pvp. That being said, i like the Hyperion. Although it is onloved by many, it's a beast once you have the SP to fit it well. Megathron is cheaper and still very good though.

FiS should be the priority, but WiS should not be burried!

Don't encourage CCP to make empty promises or Incarna will happen again!

If you look past all the meta-gaming (that is, if you ignore what others tell you to train), your next ship should always be one you want to fly. Sure, you may be a better asset to your corp if you can fly a Battleship, but if you would rather fly a small, quick tackler, go for an Interceptor. If you want to fly big, go for a Battleship, even if your allies are all flying around in T3 Cruisers. Your next ship should always be one you want to fly, not one others want you to fly.
