Dont agree except about spam in local.

Eve is not lacking justice it's just about player justice. Make your own, basically. If people quit because of scamming they really need to not be playing this game, either, and they certainly wouldn't want to PVP.

I'm not saying there aren't scum bags, some people enjoy playing scum bags in a game. Just like some people enjoy shooting scum bags. So really it's a win win.

I also have made the odd scam here or there (200 billion and running), and I have this to say about scamming in general: EvE changes. Things get nerfed, mechanics change, and everyone in EvE is expected to adapt. That applies to scammers as well as anyone else. If something is confusing or misleading, CCP SHOULD fix it! They've done that with escrow and later contracts many times. I personally think it would be nice to do something about jita local (although blocking scammers works fine for me too). If YOUR scamming angle gets removed because CCP is fixing something, I really don't see the problem. You just have to find another way to do it. As anyone who has made more than a few bill scamming knows, there are LOTS of suckers in game and fresh meat arrives all the time. However, like anything in EvE, it's competitive and you will only be good at it if you can out-play others. That means thinking of new ways to play when things change.

CCP isn't going to get rid of scamming. That just won't happen. I don't think it would even be possible, quite frankly. Imagine the petitions! That said, the methods we use to scam will most certainly continue to change. I think it's perfectly reasonable for CCP to introduce and change mechanics that make players more aware of what they are doing and less likely to actually fall for a scam. That's not 'destroying' anyone's game play... it's simply improving the game.

No matter what happens, there will be lots of choices for people to make as they play through the game. Some people will always make poor choices, and there will be those who position themselves to take advantage of that lapse in judgement. That will never change.

What does a good scammer like yourself earn if you don't mind me asking and whats the most you've earned in one scam?

Keep up the good work (just hope I dont fall for one of your scams) :)

The game is to be sold, not told baby.

You want tips, you have to pay.

Sorry, wanted to make an attempt to be cool.

Scamming is very lucrative. Had a 10 bill scam a few days ago.

Most I've earned?

Won't share that :p

Why not get rid of Pirates then?
What about Podding?
What about undercutting?

Hell, why not just remove PVP altogether, killing people is "wrong", right?

Dude scams are 100% avoidable if people just use their friggin heads.

"Send me 100 Mill and I'll Send you 300 mill".... really dude??? If you fall for that you deserve it. Bottom line man, cmon.

Sorry.

I don't want to sit for hours mining. That's boring.
I don't want to run missions. Shooting at reds crosses sucks.
I don't want to manufacture. It's a PITA. Seriously. You spend all of your time making crap and at the end of the day, traders make the most money off of the **** that YOU built....Plus profit margin sucks anyway.
I don't want to trade. Playing Plus-A-Penny all day isn't my style.

Scamming is all I have. It's fun. My heart skips a beat when I see that wallet flash or that contract pop up.

Take away scamming and I'm gone (and I know plenty others who feel the same). ISK is essential in this game, and most ways to obtain it make you want to lick windows, as it's probably more enjoyable. Scamming is the only profession that doesn't feel like a friggin JOB. I work all day, I don't want drudge work in my hobbies.

Well, you have every right to try to scam as many people as possible just like I have every right to call any scammer out when I see them working, and......
I almost always do, not only that, when I do I explain what the scam is and how it works.

An educated public is a happy public.

Merry Christmas.

PS. not on this toon, I'm not an idiot MOST of the time. :)

Cool story but....I don't spam Jita.

It's lame and ineffective.

So you don't like combat, or trading, or creating, just tricking people. Which is cool I guess. Except this game kind of revolves spending isk. Not that I'm against people scamming, play how you like.. but it does bring in to question .. to what purpose? I understand if you fly ships you cant afford scamming can close that gap. But so far all you've listed is that you like to stay docked and spam local and nothing else.

Say you have 3 trillion isk doing nothing but plying your "deals". Now what? work on a 4th? a 5th? What's the progression if you have no goal?

I like combat, just not PVE crap. I like PVP.

Plus hoarding wealth is a hobby. Collecting money is no diff than collecting stamps or w/e.

Granted I'm new to EVE (2 months) but I found my niche. I'm good at scamming. I enjoy it. It's a rush.

The worst part is finding victims, and even that's not too bad.

Minority? Are you on the test server or something? Have you ever been to a trade hub or tried to look for something on contracts, or a whole bunch of other stuff. It seems almost everyone who plays Eve and is not in my corporation is a scammer.

No good deed goes unpunished
